Been doing surveys, I'm impressed with populus live which saved my £18 balance from 2014. Insane.
Thinking about buying a table top dish washer. I will probably spend at least another 3 months pondering.
Finally have an in person doctor's appointment about my hands. I'm not looking forward to them being touched but I feel like I might make progress.
Also, I made a rose. It took about a million hours. I'm unreasonably proud.2 -
Hi Kp, I’m so sorry to hear about your uncle passing away ☹️I’m glad you made it to the wedding despite Covid, what a relief testing negative just before! The crochet flowers are great, I love crochet but have never attempted it, perhaps I should try!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Love the rose kp
Hopefully GP can sort your hands out? - I ended up with super strong steroid creams (went from mild to medium to strong) to get mine sorted - along with anti fungal to check there was nothing else behind it. I'm impressed you're still crafting with such sore hands - I wussed out on doing much when mine were bad - all kudos to you - you are clearly made of strong stuff! X

Also by pure coincidence, I just got myself a tabletop dishwasher this past weekend after realising it was on sale for prime day. I too have been thinking about it for ages and just bit the bullet. I've only used it a few times so it hasn't changed my life just yet, but it does seem to make life a bit easier. Mine is one you top up manually with water (though you can plumb it in if you want) and it's been so easy to set up.2 -
Thanks all for the crochet love. If you're interested @newgirly charity shops often have crochet hooks and yarn for very reasonable prices. Having said that the works and haberdasheries are incredibly reasonable as well. I can share the YouTube videos that I've found that I have been able to follow.
@greent, my hands were not like bad bad. Like medium bad. So I couldn't do anything without pain but it wasn't horrendous. So I couldn't do DIY, so crochet filled the gap I guess! I am sorry about your hands, but I'm glad they are better now!
@misslolu I might be putting off the dishwasher for a bit until I know what's happening in my life. But I'm delighted for you and would love to see how you get on with it.
Things have happened so now everything is up in the air. Let's start with nice. My hands are feeling much better. The doctor has given me many options and a strict no soap policy.
Another person in my work has quit so things are going to get manic! Genuinely concerned for him though as he's going into a role which is a lot higher in terms of technical skill expectations than he has. He's lovely but doesn't grasp the basics.
I had news that I'm not ready to share. But the outcome is that I will need to sell my flat and my investments. So really I want to save as much of my investments as possible so I will need to be quite strict with money. I need to batch cook again (not been cooking with my bad hands), no more eating out at lunch just because, no more buying things that I don't really really need. I've been living a luxurious life really, still careful with not overspending and still saving but not saving the maximum if that makes sense. I will still eat out with friends since I really only see friends (out of the house) like twice a month. It's usually at cheap places as well.
I don't know if I should try to get a higher paying job at the moment. I will need to get a mortgage (different property), do I get one asap and hope this all takes at least 6 months or more. Or do I stay and then find a higher paid job afterwards? Decisions, decisions.
I'm pretty sure I won't get a second job. But I am still thinking about starting a YouTube which may provide a small income in the future. (For DIY projects).
Lastly I need to do all the little jobs I've been putting off around the flat. Redoing the skirting boards, replacing the sink, putting up curtains... Boring things that aren't as exciting as my projects.
But most importantly, I found a new flower to crochet so I think that will be this week's project.2 -
I think keeping the meals out with friends is a wise move if you can make savings in other areas - social connections are so important. I hope things become more settled so it's easier for you to make the big decisions!Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

SC will be very proud. I have already earnt back the money that I spent today at the car boot through a survey. It was about the teaching profession.
I got an incredible haul of yarn today.
£4.50 all in. I also got a green one but I think that went walkies. Lots and lots of practice here!
Batch cooking has began, pasta with veggies and chicken (marked down). I meant to put the (marked down) pork belly with it but I guess that's going with the rice instead!
Organising stuff to sell. I'm ebaying things I think I can get more than £20, but car booting anything else. I'm aiming for next weekend.
Also started stripping the door frames. But, most importantly, I have discovered a rare bag monster3 -
Hope you are ok KP, it sounds like a lot of changes. I agree with merlins beard and greent that you should keep those lunches with friends if you at all can manage it.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁1
