    Who/what is consumer right

<1. Contacted consumer right. Case opened with reference number. >

There’s a Citizens Advice phone line that I believe is what used to be Consumer Direct. Probably that.

So your local police aren't interested, the met wont be as their crime has the property back.

    Down to you now.
Well I thought Metropolitan police should get in touch with the seller and ask him where hi got laptop from. I think case is closed now cause original owner got her item back. Action Fraud case opened nearly month ago. Who knows how long its gonna take police to get back to me.

Have the police taken a statement from you?

Don't hold your breath with Action Fraud as they just pass it to the police.

Went to police and they adviced o open a case on Action Fraud website. Seller called me a fraud and prepared to go to court.

If you have a signed document from Apple saying it was stolen and it has been seized and now police property, then send a letter before action to the seller giving him 14 days to refund in full.

If it goes to court you will win.

How long did you have it before taking it to Apple repair? Why did it need repairing?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Bought a Macbook from a seller on Ebay. Took it to Apple store for a repair. 2 weeks later Apple repair department contacted me over the phone stating Macbook I brought to them been stolen. Apple mutually provide me with crime reference number but not officer's name. I told Apple I bougtht it on Ebay. They adviced to contact Ebay and provide this information. Contacted Ebay and first they asked for crime details and opened case on my behalf. Later they asked for Checkmend report. Checkmend showed Macbook is clean. Ebay closed the case in seller's favour despite providing a letter to Ebay written by officer (got officer's name by contacting police) confirming details I gave to Ebay. Ebay refused appeal case and adviced me to contact Paypal.
Opened case with Paypal with same info provided. Paypal closed the case advising to deal with seller myself. Contacted Paypal over the phone to find whats going on and they adviced to contact my credit card issuer. Tesco bank refused to claim under chargeback scheme cause I have not got macbook on me anymore.
Contacted police officer over the e-mail and he confirmed neither companies Ebay nor Paypal contacted him.
    What I have done:
    1. Contacted consumer rights helpline. Case opened with reference number.
    2. Reported seller to Action Fraud.
    3. Sent letter to seller via mail about court action. Seller refusing to take the blame.
    4. Complained to Financial Ombudsman about Paypal.

More advice needed. I believe Apple had no rights to pass Macbook to owner. They never provided me with any paperwork from police (itemized receipt for seized property). What else can be done? It seems small claim court is the only way.

I have got Crime reference number. Apple provided me with Crime reference and police station. in London, but not officer's name. Again. Mutually. Not providing any paperwork (referring to DATA protection), so needed to call Metropolitan police to get name and e-mail of the officer.

Have not got letter from Apple. But letter from officer with all details addressed to Ebay.

Sent letter to seller about court action giving 30 days. Got sample somewhere online.

No. Should I go to police now after reporting to Action Fraud?
