Oh Taurusgb
to find it and then have it grabbed away from you, so unfair!
Do you go on Ebay? If so, why don't you put it in your Favourite Searches and if one comes up for sale at least you'll get an email and the chance to bid on it.
Perhaps the person who bought it is a seller so you might be lucky.0 -
Mrs M, Love the Christmas decoration thingy. The one next to the Christmas tree, the ? leaping deer looks really nice. Where did you get those?0

Oh I could weep! For years I have been trying to get hold of the Anchor Literary sampler kit (I love books and I love cross stitching), they stopped making it before I even knew it existed - I only found out about it after reading an old cross sticthing magazine. Today a friend told me she had seen a new unopened kit in the charity shop, so I raced down there as fast as I could only to find someone else had just bought it.
I've been weeping and wailing about it all evening but no-one here understands
oh misery!
Lets hope the other person enjoys it, who knows maybe they will get fed up and not do it and return to shop one day...... you can live in hope.
Thanks for all the tips everyone, I am going to hold off buying any more, I? discovered our local shop has a really great range in (not allowed to buy them all!) so have to do some more before allowed to buy any!

Hi Taurus
Sorry to hear that you missed the kit you wanted. I have found this for you on the American amazon site. Not sure how desperate you are for it as it's quite expensive.

We all understand how frustrating it is to get so close to getting what you want only to have it snatched away.
Hopefully the link will help, sorry I can't find it any cheaper for you.

Morning all
Flissh -all the little ones Im doing at the moment were a set of free cards attatched to a magazine..
Right -I have finished the 3rd one .. can't really see the metalic thread very well on the pic -but it really sparkles :T ....now Im going to behave and get back to the big picture Im doing for mum for xmas :A :rotfl: ....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
... putting my efforts on the camera, that is.
I've been a x stitcher on and off for 25 years, and here are some of my projects.
They are on walls -Just inside the front door
and at the bottom of the stairs ("Bless this house and all within") I don't know how to show more detail but I fell in love with the intricate pattern of flowers, and the lovely colour combinations in the kit
The next two are in the sitting room -Psalm 23 - The Lord is My Shepherd
I started this to give me inspiration during a very difficult period of my life. Again, the details don't show well but it's done on dark fabric, made to look antique. This is an old-fashioned alphabet sampler, which looks older with the frame that a friend put on for me
This isn't x stitch but uses ribbons threaded through, and French knots and other stitches so it looks like a piece of lace. It is from a pattern called 'Ashes of Roses' and there is matching piece that looks like ribbons laced through each other, and a huge one which uses elements of both kits. I'd love to do these but A) kits are beyond my means at the moment and
there's too much else to do!
As well as these, I did the poem 'Footprints' for my mum's 80th birthday (I'll take a pic next time I visit).
My DDs haven't caught the embroidery bug from me but I'd like to think these might hang around after I'm gone.
Keep up the good work everyone.
Love to all my virtual friends,
Chris :wave:0 -
This is my best one, I had just learned how to cross stitch.
Spike from Buffy the vampire slayer.0 -
Oh, those are lovely - particularly liking Spike, as he was a favourite of mine from the TV show
I've been cracking on with my angels and am averaging a fair bit every week (my fingers itch when I can't pick it up as regularly as I'd like). Snowed in today, so I'm getting a lot of chance to do it.
Getting there! Sorry I've not been around much - it's been a bit mad here. (((hugs))) Hope everyone is ok - happy stitching!

Wow, some lovely pictures ladies.
Hey Frugalswan, hope your angels are still going well and all that snow allowed you plenty of time to devote to them.
Unfortunately, whilst it was more snow than I have ever seen in my 34 years, it wasn't enough to stop me going to work so I spent the day in the office staring out of the window. Would have loved the day off to go out and play like the big kid that I am :rotfl:
Well, my Zebra Eye is still sitting waiting for me to pay it some attention. I seem to have so much to do lately, I'm never here to do any. However, only one more week of work then I have the week off to relax so I plan to do a lot then.
Today I am off to my parents to try again at upholstering the footstool my dad has made me. He brought it up a couple of weeks ago but forgot the staplegun so we couldn't do anything. At least I get to have another one of my mums lovely roast dinners:T . And, I've dug out the cushion part of a Tigger cushion I stitched a few years ago so mum said she will put it together for me while I'm upholstering :A
Have a lovely day all.

Used to do cross stitch quite well years ago when I was in school and am thinking of starting up again.
Any stitchers here?
Any hints and tips on getting started again? Good sites for free patterns etc etc.
