Hi everyone, normally look at the "anyone into cross stitching" forum but found this one also.

Last night I finally finished the chinook that I have been doing for my oh and just in time as he returned from Afghansitan today.

Once I have got myself sorted I will take a pic and post it if anyone would like to see.

    Take Care

    Hey P.

Would love to see the pic but make sure you spend time spoiling that lovely oh of yours first, he deserves it. Glad he is home safely and well done on finishing it in time for his return. Bet you are thrilled about both.

    Hugs

666paw would love to see your pictures but imagine your lovely DH will be taking up most of your time. Glad he is home safe.
I have taken photos of some of my xstitch but not transferred them to the computer yet
  • ooh, yes, I'd love to see pics of your stitching, but definitely spend some quality time with your OH *hugs* :) I personally haven't had time to pick up my stitching today and it doesn't look likely either :s

Not had time yet for stitching either. Might sit down with a cuppa in a minute and do a bit.

The good news ladies is... The sepia pics are all on the wall and look lovely. Am really thrilled and can't wait for visitors so that I can show them off.

These are the other two which, along with the girls on page 7, make up the set.

I'm so pleased I'm sat grinning at the laptop :rotfl:

  • Oh, wow, Harley. Those are awesome! I must read through the thread again to find out where you got them, because they are fab. :D No wonder you're sat grinning at the laptop - well done you :D

Had a bit of a minor triumph last night and have almost finished another page. I'll take photos of what I've done so far so you can see, too. Unfortunately, as I'm working on 26 count Aida, my eyes are starting to go a bit strange :s

    Hello everyone

    Your cross stitching looks amazing.

I don't have the talent for this, my friend has offered to cross stitch a birth detail for me for my youngest DD

Can anyone point me in the direction of a pattern/template please? :)

Hi. Just come across this thread - and scanned through. i didi a few small projects - the freebies that came from the cross stitch magazines. that was quite a few years ago when i had my babies - yes amazingly i had more time then! but now they are at school i hardly get time.....

i would love to do a 'big' project, all those lovely pictures i've just seen on this thread is inspiring me again!

btw, did anyone collect the partworks series, Cross Stitch Magic, by eaglemoss. i only bought few parts but i wasn't getting to finish any projects and stopped buying them, can;t remember what part they ended on.

i think there should be a separate board for this....!

    Hi ladies.

Thank you all for your compliments. :A

Frugalswan, the kits came from sewandso.co.uk. They are a pretty good price and arrived very quickly. I am so chuffed, they look lovely. As soon as the new man arrived last night I sent him up the stairs to have a look, he was very impressed. Can't wait for Mum and Dad to come and see them. They have been a long time in the making so it is great to finally see them on the wall.

Poor you working on 26ct  , the new Zebra Eye is on 16ct and I thought that was bad enough. Have you got one of those magnifier thingies? Seem to remember a friends mum having one that she hung round her neck and rested on her boobs, maybe that would help a bit.

an1179, not really had an excuse to do birth samplers but my best friend has just stitched a pair of feet, in the same sepia tint as my pics above, with babys name underneath, its from the same brand - vervaco - and can also be bought from sewandso. But really, they are so easy to do, especially this one as there is no back stitch or knots or anything. Why don't you give it a try? Everything is in the kit, the instructions are very clear, and if you need any advice on anything we are all here to help.

Rosefairy, I'd never come across Cross Stitch Magic, but a quick search of ebay shows some for sale. The highest editition seems to be number 30. One seller has 3, issues 23, 26 and 30 and is willing to combine postage if you wanted to take a look. Glad you're feeling inspired, take a look around the web, there are some lovely kits available and ebay is a great way of finding very cheap kits.

    Hope this has helped
