Wow, Harley, those eyes look AWESOME! I've checked out CelticRose and will definitely be going there for my next ideas.
I'll keep you updated on the cushion, if at some point you fancy trying out the pattern, give me a shout, only I've just found that Needlepoise no longer exist, so you can' get it anywhere now :(
I love the finished effect of those patterns done in shades of one colour - like those girls and my sepia cat. Although I have to say, I did one a while back of a certain grey bear that you see on cards and there were SO many shades of grey in there my mind went numb! :rotfl:

Anyone sold any cross stitch mags on ebay or car boot them? I have loads of quick and easy cross stitch mags doing nothing....i have too many of them to flick through, so could do with selling some, not sure if worth the hassle of ebay p+p etc?

I will then keep a select few and my cross stitch books to use...very mse i think!

I have bought some in the past from ebay but that was before new postage charges based on size etc. came in, think it would work out too expensive now. I usually take copies I've finished with to charity shop (sometimes find some to buy in there too;) )

Those look amazing :) This is the angels project I'm working on, and I have a feeling it'll be a looooong time indeed before I can say it's finished :D

http://www.kustomkrafts.net/New%20Website/counted%20images/99143webpage.jpg (as I'm not sure how to post pics)

*guilty* I actually started another one last night as a present for my Mum for Christmas. It's going to take a while, and hopefully I won't get so sidetracked as I usually do and not finish any of them. I need more staying power!

Otherwise, I managed to get a good chunk done at work in my lunch hour today. :) Always makes me feel I've achieved something :):T

Wow, the angels are beautiful. Will the finished picture be for you or is it a gift for someone?

Thanks Miss B and Frugalswan. again :rotfl:

Miss B, Thanks very much, I'll let you know about wanting the dragonflies. I'll add it to my huge list of projects to be done  I've never tried the tatty teddies myself, all that blending and backstitch put me off. However, I've just got my best friend into stitching whilst she was on maternity leave and she did a smallish one for her mum for Christmas. She didn't seem to have too many problems, at least, I didn't get any phone calls asking me to come and sort out any wrong stitches  I'm seeing her later so I'll ask what she thought of it.

Frugalswan, those angels are gorgeous but they do look quite intricate and I'm not surprised that you're expecting them to take a while.

I'm the same, I always want to start the newest purchase before finishing the existing one. I have had to be very disciplined as I had the Aida and threads for the Zebra and Tiger eyes delivered in November. But I've been very good and put them to one side to make sure that I complete the sepia set first. I am hoping that the frames will be ready tomorrow, although I've not finished yet I've only got a bit more to do. Yet again housework got in the way and delayed me a bit!!!

Think of me today, stuck on a course whilst you lucky ladies are stitching. Apparently I need to learn about holding meetings... 13 years of doing it and they still want me to attend a course. Must be nice to have nothing better to do with your money

I hate when that happens. Sorry to hear that, Harley, and I hope the course went well (((hugs))). I'm going to turn the angels into a one-off special shoulder bag (for myself ;) ) I'm stitching onto 26 count aida, so it's eventually going to be about the size of a piece of A4 paper ... if it ever gets there :D It's taking it's time, but I got a bit more done today. I got a whole 40 minutes in my lunch hour!!! ;) Still, I should get the chance to do some more tonight :) All being well, that is.

    Ooh..more cross stitchers :)

I've been x-stitching for years - started when I worked in a job that involved a lot of sitting about waiting for things to happen. Most of my pieces get given away - my mum has most of them. She's very fussy about *art* on her walls, won't have prints or copies of anything, it has to be original. Apparently, my x-stitch counts!

Some of the larger kits I've done have been :

Wolf's head (13 shades of grey, don't go there!)
Huge circular stained glass effect rose window - with varigated threads, they were good
Castle sampler from Janlynn - I've kept that one 'cause it took me 7 years on and (very) off
Dragon round the earth type fantasy picture - black aida, arrghhh
Various of the circular landscape designs (for mum, she's now got a Spring, Summer and Winter and she's waiting for the Autumn one. I've told her not to hold her breath)
Gorgeous Samurai + peacock design - that one's done except for the backstitching..I will get round to it, I will - he's for me again as he's taken ages

And the one I'n doing now - Max in the Adirondacks - a cat curled up in a shed full of fishing tackle (fishing's my other addiction!)

Couple of photos of the latest ones can be found here if anyone's interested...

Those are gorgeous, Mags_cat. I love the samurai and the peacock. That's lovely. :) I did a Dimensions Kit of wolves, so I know exactly what you mean when you talk about all the shades of grey! Haven't had chance to do any stitching yet today as I met a friend for lunch, but I'm hoping to get a couple of hours in tonight. I really don't get as much chance as I'd like :(

Still waiting for a couple of threads to be sent from Sew and so so I can continue with a second project (for a Christmas present). Hope they come soon...

Some brilliant pictures Magscat, I like the way you keep a record of the different stages of the projects. Love Max, the work in progress.
Is your circular landscape a John Clayton design? I’ve done one of his (village scene) and have one “in waiting”

Frugalswan, a bag sounds like a lovely idea. My mum bought me a big shopper with a print of a Vettriano picture on it and I get lots of comments about it. I bet you will get loads when you take the angels shopping. Hurry up and finish so that we can all see.:T

The course went well thanks. It proved that I was already doing a pretty good job of running my meetings but did give me a few ideas for dealing with tough situations better. Some of my colleagues get a bit emotional about our work and I often find myself cringing and trying to hide under the table when it all gets a bit personal  so hopefully I'm better equiped to get them back on track now.

Not done any stitching for a couple of days but hoping to get close to finishing the girls today.

I picked up the frames yesterday and they are gorgeous. 40mm thick brown leather, all 3 for £22, I was stunned. However, the lady said she is another victim of the credit crunch and will be closing at the end of the month. I'm so gutted for her, its a great little shop and the service is brilliant. I will be taking measurements of all the eye pictures today to get my frames ordered for them before she goes.

Brilliant pictures Mags cat. I love the peacock too, and Max is soooo cute.

MissB, I spoke to my friend the other night and she said her mum was thrilled with the Tatty Teddy picture. And that she enjoyed doing it too, I'm amazed as she usually has less patience than me, but she would happily do another one for her new daughter, 9 weeks. Not that she has finished the one she started for her just before she was born. :rotfl:

    Happy stitching ladies
