    Hi PG.

If you are looking to start again can I recommend www.celticroseneedlecraft.com

I have now bought 9 of their charts, the service is fantastic and the charts are gorgeous. It seems that they are still doing their 3 for 2 offer on their own charts, although I thought this was supposed to finish at the end of 2008 hence my massive order a couple of weeks ago.

The charts are all plain cross stitch with no french knots or backstitch and when I messed up my order a couple of weeks ago the owner, Jackie, could not have been more helpful. The order arrived the following day.

I have no personal interest in this site other than to reward the excellent service that I received.

Hope this helps and that you start to enjoy this great hobby again.

  • I'm right in the middle of a huuuuge project of a couple of angels - think it is going to take me another couple of years to finish it (I've been at this one for over a year as it is :D ). The pattern is 9 pages long and I'm almost to the end of the third page. :D It is truly beautiful though, and I want to turn it into a one-off bag when it's done. :)

Take a look at this site, there are quite a few free great quality downloads on there.

You have to register before you can download any but you get an email back from them within a minute or so.

Hope this is of use to some stitchers out there.

    ;)

Thanks for the link to the celticrose site Harley1, there are some nice kits on there.
I have been sewing The North Wind by Dimensions on and off for last couple of years, it is a large piece of work and always takes second place to smaller projects. Just the back-stitch to do now and, as there is rather a lot of it, I am not confident it will get framed before this year ends! :o

    You're very welcome, Happyroly.

I am just about to finish a vervaco sepia kit (last one of set of 3) in the next couple of days and am really excited about starting the ones from Celtic Rose.

The first one I'm going to do is the Zebra Eye, followed by Tigers Eye (both for the one remaining spare wall in my Lounge) then the gorgeous Jaguar Cub. I saw him in one of their adverts on the back of Cross Stitcher magazine a little while back and instantly fell in love!!!

I have a new man in my life so I've not done as much as I would like recently but last night he started to show a real interest in how it works and what projects I had coming up so hopefully I can do some when he is here now.
It always felt a bit rude before, to stitch while I had company, but he even suggested getting a little kit to try to understand how it works.

    Think I've found a keeper :j

    Hi Harley,

I also thought it was a bit rude to sew in company but then I also found watching footie matches and not doing anything constructive during them felt like a waste of time - if I'd been at home I'd be sewing whilst watching. So now, if I'm at my lovely OHs, I'll sew if we're watching sport and he doesnt mind at all! :)

He's always interested to see what I'm up to, especially if I'm making prezzies for people, and also in the progress of the really nasty huge Drragonfly project that I keep putting away when I get fed up with it. Eventually it'll be a triptych of cushions - honest!

    Thanks MissB.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one. My theory was that I wouldn't do it if any of my friends came round to visit so didn't really seem right to do it with him here either but he is really showing an interest.

The only other man to ask about it and make nice impressed noises is my dad and I'm sure that's only cos its in the Dad Job Description

I've so nearly finished the two little girls that I'm stitching, only a few more hours I think. Definitely by the weekend as the frames will be ready by then and I am really keen to start the Zebras Eye. I've got all the threads and fabric, I just need enough hours in the day to get on with it.

Good luck with your dragonfly... have you got a picture of it you can post?
