I use the stitch bows for all my skeins of threads
But the leftover threads from kits I either use the thread sorters that came with the kit or I cut up cereal boxes and hole punch them and store the threads that way
Forgot to say as well if you want a real challenge these guys also give away free charts

Hi
Another vote here for Ebay!
Threads can be bought for around half the price that you would pay instore. I usually buy charts from there too. I am currently stitching the Lavender and Lace Celtic Ladies series and in Hobbycraft/local shop would have been £15.00 each but I got them for between £5.00 and £10.00 each(including postage) from ebay.
This might sound obvious but avoid buying too many kits as your tastes do change - about 2 years ago I really liked cottage designs and bought several but after stitching a large cottage which took me over a year I can't face stitching one again! (This is probably why there are so many cheap kits on ebay!)
I too keep threads left over from other projects and wind them onto pucnhed cereal boxes! I also keep any cover kits if ever I buy a magazine - if I don't want to stitch it I separate the threads, fabric and needle for other projects. Although the fabric is small I stitch small motifs/pictures for birthday/xmas cards.
Also forgot, try checking at your local library for cross stitch chart books.0 -

I agree with you on this one,I have two boxes in the loft full of kits that I just don't fancy doing anymore. They're all unopened and even though some are still available to buy today I just can't say they appeal to me.0 -
There is a cross stitching forum attached to one of the main magazine companies (forget which one). www.cross-stitching.com they have sections for chat and for people selling stash, you might be able to pick up some good bits there. Also on another part of the site there are some free charts if you already have the materials.
Another addict here LOL0 -
hi to all the cross stitch addicts, I too am hooked, got 3 projects on the go at the mo, you always need more than one to stop you getting bored. For cheaper threads check out Ashtreedesigns.co.uk, they sell DMC at 37 p a skein, cheaper than I've seen it in any shops. They will also convert Anchor to DMC.0

I highly recommend https://www.stitchability.co.uk - they quite often have a big range of well-discounted kits, and they have never let me down.....0

Theres also Past Impressions which has free delivery and often features a kit of the month whixh is reduced.
I'm currently stitching Christmas cards. I must be mad!0
