You are not wrong.....It can be identified and prevented, however, that is not necessarily the ISPs responsibility.
You don't say how you access your emails. You can use the likes of Thunderbird or eMClient etc and look at using
    MailWasher, or Spamihilator
    to sort your spam.
All that said, just stop being lazy (your words) and change over completely to gmail. You can have gmail pick up your emails from Virgin during the transission.....It's not really a major task to change.

I use Windows Live Mail and no secondary add-on software for my VM emails.
If I use my GMail accounts to collect my VM emails, how do use VM to create emails. Do I still use WLM to create them or use GMail client and select my VM email address from an option list?

Isn't the point that you want to stop using VM emails? Just reply to any emails with your gmail account. You can leave a note at the end for anyone important that says 'Please note change of email address', or similar, although most people will just blindly reply to your gmail address.

You would do better to take this-up with your MP.

The only thing that makes this scam viable is the UK phone companies who are allowed to sell substantial blocks of overseas calltime to the companies operating the callcentres these scammers utilise.

If they paid the same rate that we pay for calling their parts of the world, then there would be no return in it for them whatsoever..!
  • I just have my handset on silent, so it doesn't sound when the nuisance calls come through...if it's important people leave a message :cheesy:

You can nominate any account to be the default address from which Gmail sends outgoing messages.

Since saying to them that they have rung a computer repair business number, they put the phoned down pretty quick, and their calls to me have tailed off.
Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. Peer at your baby's eyes for them to reflect back just people-throw away your flags and religious symbols...

Had such call only yesterday. Hung up and warned my husband to do the same should it happen again. This is the first time I've had one of these calls.
