Ditto, and ditto0 -
I have unplugged the landline and would only plug it back in to call the fire brigade etc.0

Changing ISP may be a solution if you are up for it. I changed my ISP from TalkTalk to Vodafone in August as Voda had a better superfast fibre deal. I never received these kind of calls when with TT, they only started after I switched. So it appears that TT's free spam call filter works. Not that I will be returning to TT, Instead I unplugged my landline phone.0

I don't think the callers know or care who your ISP is!
I find these calls come in waves, they'll taper off soon.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
It's not who's the ISP, it's who's providing the landline.
TalkTalk does call filtering, as does PlusNet and presumably many other Telephone line providers.
@OP
As above use free BT 'Call protect' 1572 or get a BT 'Call Guardian' handset.
Maybe you can configure the landline handset to go straight to voicemail? i.e. screen all calls.
Otherwise unplug it if not used for personal calls, incoming or outgoing.0 -
You could consider something like truecall.
Bit pricy at just over £100 and you need caller ID, but if your phone provider doesn't offer a similar service it might do the job.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. This is mse"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -
I had truecall for many years but the service got expensive of a few years. I now use BT phone rarely get any cold calls and when I do it rejects them anyway0

Thank you for all your replies I am with virgin and they say there is little they can do as its an automated call.I think I will invest in the BT handset though if only to stop the pesky calls0
