Would them being over 5 years old help with a chargeback? I was sold very old boots, which I was not aware of, and according to Caterpillar the heel becoming loose/detaching is likely down to their age.

No.
If the retailer are saying that then they should be dealing with it.
The retailer haven’t admitted how old the boots are.
The retailer are sticking to a maximum 20% refund offer.
My credit card company seem to be in the process of a chargeback though. I’ve had a bit of a garbled response saying they suggest I return the boots and they’re putting some kind of form in the post to me.
The retailer didn’t put a returns label in the box. (I always keep those a while, just in case.) Their website has a returns system which doesn’t recognise my order details. So I can’t get a returns label. If I pay to send these boots back via special delivery am I able to get the retailer to pay this back?
