Interesting. Can you give a bit more detail (e.g. model no. or link?).

Bought a pair of the 3 Skype mobiles on PAYG for DS and his girlfriend - he was spending stupid money on T Mobile to keep in contact. The Skype calls are working out fine with only a few "cold" spots where the signal drops.
Two problems he's found are 1) excessive feeback/echo as the speakers on the headsets are quite loud and 2) battery life is poor. Despite being allowed to run down before charging, after a week each charge only lasts 1 day.
He also hasn't got the 300 free 3-to-3 mins with his initial £10 top-up (purchased with phone). Girlfriend's phone is allowing her to make and receive Skype calls despite never being topped up!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
Thanks for this, have chosen to go for a new normal phone instead.Always ASK for £2 coins and then vow to save them straight away

Last week I saw a Three shop advertising Skype phone on 6 month contract at £15 /month - I think that gave you 300 minutes / month. They also give you £50 discount if you are buying two. This option also gives you more minutes. We (me and my wife) were very tempted as our contract with CPW on O2 had ended. Phoned CPW to cancel and they offered to renew our contract for another year (11 months free on 12 month contract) so we decided to give Three a miss.

Seems a bit pointless as you can "Stretch" a £15 PAYG top-up to give you 300 mins/texts + 300 3-to-3 mins + free voice mail."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
Seems a bit pointless as you can "Stretch" a £15 PAYG top-up to give you 300 mins/texts + 300 3-to-3 mins + free voice mail.
Let me explain - This is a 6 month contract which includes the phone worth £50 alone.
£15 per month * 6 month = £90 cost
This includes the phone and 6 months of 300 mins/texts + 300 3-to-3 mins + free voice mail and the rest.
If you get two, then you get £60 cash (£30 each) plus you get loads of extra minutes per month to talk to each other. This make this deal £60 each total cost for 6 months. That's only £10 more then the cost of the phone itself on PAYG!
If your on PAYG you have to pay for the phone (£50) and then the monthly top ups, £15 * 6 month = £90 - Total £140 over six month, therefore much more expensive.
