When I checked on 27/11/2007 the list of compatible phones was: Nokia 6120, E65, N73, N95, LG U970, U990, SE K530i, W910i, K770i, K850i plus of course the Skypephone.0 -

My DD has a K530i on 3 and uses it to call me using Skype. I have a Netgear SPH200D cordless dual mode phone which plugs into my broadband router. 3 mobile allows 4000 free minutes per month on Skype and this saves us a lot of money. I have found the call quality excellent although my DD reports an echo at her end but she finds it acceptable. Some days the line drops and she has to call me back, but mostly it is ok. Another problem is that the mobile has to be set on normal calls or Skype, but not both at the same time, so if, as usual, the mobile is set to receive normal calls it is off for Skype.

I can't seem to get much information from the 3 website about this phone. I was just wondering is it completely free calls to other skype users, or do you have to top up every month to use it or some catch like that.......
thanks in advance0 -
They are free to other skype users BUT you do have top up the phone every 30 days with £10 to activate them.0

Apologies if there is another thread about this but I did search and couldn't find anything!
Has anyone had one of these phones? If so can you tell me your opinion please? My partner and I are thinking of getting the twin pack for £90, although you do have to top up with £10 per month......

Maybe this should go in the bargains section?
I bought a Skype phone from 3G for £50 plus £10 card. Candybar size, neat, slim, light and packed full of features - 2M camera, video recorder, voice recorder and a Skype button for phoning over Skype from thephone. And the reason I bought it - Internet access for 50p a day or £2.50 for 2 weeks or £5 a month. If you go PAYG then you can't go over the 1G fair useage limit by very much.
The only downside I can find is that the internet connection is slightly slow compared to Orange on my Treo (5 - 10 secs to load a new page). And of course the touch screen wysiwyg interface on the Treo is soooo much easier to use.
The Google Maps download works incredibly well. Very useful. And you can check emails etc etc.
But what do I expect for £50!
Oh,yes, the worst thing is that the support is in India.
Buy a PAYG and you just can't go wrong. Nice toy when sitting on trains and buses and wasting time at home.0
