  • many thanks for the number, I tried yesterday around 3pm but held on for 94mins and gave up. Just now tried at 12.30 and got through in 33min. I spoke to a Friendly and helpful Lady called Kelsey (think that's her name) and she was able to review my 2 claims on her system. Said first one was ok and shed put through and the 2nd one she had to ask me a few questions, which I knew would happen as its gift vouchers etc and cashback differences between my purchase amount and the amount I paid for the gift vouchers. Lastly she asked me if ive filled in a section 7 form which authorises them to pay monies to me, I asked if everyone needed to complete this but she said not all people need to. Subject to receiving it they will pay monies approx. 5 days afterwards, so I might see it before xmas… will update when I hear more

    Hi all,

Having a bad since I finally received an email about my atol claim and I'm only getting £257 back from a £1607 booking we made.

We were delayed on a flight last year for 4 hours and I put in a claim for the delay which resulted in a £1350 voucher being given.
I used this so has now been confirmed as expired on the reclaim website.

As it listed everywhere that if any part of the holiday was booked using a voucher or gift card then it would take longer to process but would receive the full refund I was expecting this.

Only today when I called the CAA about the claim I've now been told because it was a compensation voucher that I now don't get that back!

So what now? I was still delayed for 4 hours last year so does that reapply?

    Any help please!
Was planning on using that to get a car sorted instead of a holiday. Missed that this year and now can't afford one next!

    Thanks!

It is not a voucher or gift card, it was a compo payment. You have got back all you will get back.

Im not sure whether to send a Section 7 form off. They havent asked for it but thought shall i preempt them. Dont want to confuse what already seems a complicated process tho

Refund showing in account today.... what a relief.

They aren't stupid though, I got 3% cash back through my employers rewards account when I bought the TC gift card totalling £220 and they've deducted this from the refund.

    Showed paid on 11th.

Paid by BACs so 3 working days.

I'm told that if paid on a Wednesday for example, money will be showing as available after midday on Sunday. Not sure how accurate that is, but its what a payroll manager relative told me on Wednesday and that's exactly what has happened.

Some people are saying they got paid by Faster Payment (2 hours turnaround) as they got refunded the same day from the portal going to Paid. Others saying it takes days.

I paid £650 with TC vouchers which i had purchased at either 5 or 7% cheaper from the Firesaver rewards scheme and i got the full amount refunded to me so your case seems a bit odd that they've stopped 3% as how could they possibly know where your vouchers had come from. There must be another reason why there is some missing.

The company I work for moved to a new rewards scheme after I'd bought the TC e-gift card(s). Protect Claims implied the credit card statement proving I'd paid £7400 into my company rewards scheme was inadequate evidence of gift card purchase.

I therefore contacted the old rewards company asking for an invoice, which they sent, but their invoice also showed the cashback reward i'd gained on the transaction, and Protect Claims have deducted exactly that amount from the refund.

I think you are lucky to have had the full face value refunded.
