Up to £91.82/£220 after doing the weekly shop at asssdaaa yesterday. This total includes 1kg chicken, 2 kg fl0ra light on offer, 40 sausages, breaded chicken and a months supply of dog food but is high for the 5th of the month! It also includes £21 of spending on food at work by DH and a chippy tea for him and DS when I was away overnight at work. I have bought them frozen pizzas on offer for when I am away next week ;)

DS favourite, homemade (including the spice mix) chicken and cheese enchiladas for dinner tonight :D

Tomorrow I am going to attempt to turn Jack Munroe’s little lemon puddings into little golden syrup puddings.

Couldn't believe I needed to pop out to get some onions as realised I hadn't got enough to make faggots and onion gravy for dinner tonight. Unfortunately DH came with me and ending up spending another £16.45! But this did include 3 packs of fish for £10 - prawns, squid & scallops. Will be using some of the prawns for starter tonight with half an avocado.

Hopefully shouldn't really need anything except fresh fruit and veg next week plus some dishwasher tablets if I manage to get to Lidl, otherwise they can wait until next week.

  • I had two no spend days on thursday and friday, and today I’ve spent £18.34 on meat which will last me about two weeks, including feeding my OH, and £4.50 on a huge bunch of bananas, just over 1kg of grapes, a large bag of onions and 6 huge apples. Feeling rather pleased with myself for remembering to keep my receipts and not straying from my shopping list even when I saw other things I’d usually get then not eat all of before it went off. Tonight is “cowboy pie” the way mum made it. Sausages and beans in a casserole dish seasoned with paprika, chili and worcestershire sauce, topped with cheesy mash and baked. Yum.

Ooooops, I'm a bit late joining in this month and I was very naughty last month and scarcely posted at all.
I've had a good stock up over the past week and now have £250 to last the rest of the month.

I shall try to post a bit more often this month

Did my first shop of the month for the week ahead...pleased to say I spent £69.33 but of that £20 was Tescoo vouchers which I got for all the surveys I have been doing. So actually only spent 49.33 actual cash. I am trying to aim for £70 weekly spend so really pleased.

Did the usual Saturday morning run round Lidl followed by a top-up when we were out and about.

£42.47 spent in total, £257.53 remaining, a little under £10 a day which is where I set the bar. Haven't tracked spending for such a long time I have no idea how realistic it will be!

Next month we'll add in eating out I think as this week I've had 4 meals out which is terrible (2 due to being away with work but still impacts diet etc)!

We have been working on the Shower, with DH pretending to be a Yogi sitting cross-legged or on his knees, removing the old sealant, and me in the kitchen with the white vinegar, removing soap-scum, limescale and cleaning the glass and trims. As a result I did an emergency last minute run to the local shop (mercifully it is a good little Co-op) and spent £12.50 - £3 on 8 pints of whole organic milk (on offer, bargain for organic!) and £4.50 on a chicken I roasted in a bag while we were clearing up.

A garlic flat-bread with a glass of fizz (left from Friday's celebration at DS getting a job he went for) ensured we did not attack the rest of the food in the house while waiting and we settled down to watch the athletics. Sweet potato chips and runner beans and carrots from the garden kept the cost down and it was a proper treat with lots of leftovers for pie or curry today, and some stock from the carcass
