  • I'm surprised the post office handed it over to you so easily regardless if the person knows you or not.

There's no need to be immature though, its going to get you know where.

Id move on and if you don't want to risk it on eBay again, use Facebook marketplace or gumtree and deal with cash transactions.

    All,

The fraudster keeps on emailing asking for the laptop. He / She hasn't realised he/she has been found out.

Can I ask what I should do? Shall I let the fraudster know that he/she has been rumbled?
  • The fraudsters account is shut down so they know that one of the purchases has been rumbled but they don't know which one. The only way they can reply to messages in in their mailbox because they can't login to eBay anymore with that account. They don't know for 100% sure you are getting those emails unless you've already replied to any of them so it's best to leave it that way. Just remember that the fraudsters carry out 100s or 1000s of these at once and they don't have any personal interest in you or your laptop and they will already be setting up other accounts to continue the fraud.

Ignore it and move on with your life...

... and be very thankful that you got your laptop back.
