Agree re: gifts. Never taken a gift on a date ha. Never had a date that expected it either ha. I’ve paid on occasion, though most girls I’ve dated like to split the bill. Most of the time there has been a 2nd/3rd date too. Personally wouldn’t want to be with someone who expects gifts all the time ha. Prefer someone with a bit more depth.

I'm another in the camp who would have found a Valentine gift or any extravagance on a first date weird - I've never expected anything from anyone on a first date other than company and would not expect anyone else to pick up the bill.

100% agree with this mate. 

As for others think what you like, I’m no misogynist as I’ve said before just realistic. @PestoPasta good for you, it’s not me putting anyone down, that’s all on you. Whilst I might have some debts I’ve got a property portfolio well into 7 figures worth so not sure what your point is??

Not at any point have I said there aren’t exceptions - they’re are 100%. Fwiw so far as work concerned I couldn’t care less if someone is going to bring the fees in or provide good support if that side of business whether that person is a man or woman - I would if I were a misogynist but I’m not. My comments were taken well out of context and you and others (discounting @Purplelady65 / @enthusiasticsaver) know it.

The only persons comments that have been uncalled for are yours. If anyone makes generalisations that are untrue they are going to be called out. That’s simply what has happened. As I said everyone is entitled to an opinion but you can’t expect to declare statements such as you have an expect no one to bat an eyelid.  You may think as you wish
but in today’s world your “realistic” opinion will of course be challenged.

I haven't replied to the last couple of comments that were directed at me, because I really don't think there's any point. Not all men think like alt, luckily (The Handmaid's Tale vibes!). If someone completely refuses to be reflective on their views or behaviour, despite being told multiple times by multiple people, then there's nothing that can be done. We must just hope that others reading this see modern, strong, independent women voicing opinion and hope that it makes some difference to the world.
For now, let's allow normal service to resume on this diary...
