Sorry you lost - but the judge was wrong re. grace periods. If there's a time limit on free parking, with a contractual charge if you exceed the free period, then the free period starts after you have a) parked and b) had sufficient time to read and agree to the contractual T&Cs. Plus if the timing of the period is based on ANPR image captures, and the contractual T&Cs relate to parking, then driving in and driving out past the ANPR cameras is not parking.

Shame you (sort of) lost.  Save some money from the beer fund and don't forget to pay within the timescale set by the judge to avoid a CCJ on your record.

It's all good, I'm happy it's over and just toasted anything with BW legal on.
All the best with the continuing fight

Sorry you lost but you cost them more than twice what you are paying, and there's no effect on your credit rating, as long as you pay now in full.

As has been said, both a consideration and a grace period apply even in fee car parks (as confirmed in the temporarily stalled DLUHC statutory Code).

Please do take part in the DLUHC's final (honestly, this time...really final!) public consultation this Summer about the level of parking charges and the added extortion 'fee'.

The Code of Practice is back to square one on those issues and we need genuine victims with evidence of the impact this extortion has on real people.

Come back here to check each month or you may miss it.

Really important because the good decisions could be unpicked by 'evidence' that we know the parking industry and rent-a-legal will chuck at it. Again.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So is the result of the consultation the fact that the dvla can still turn over info about people parking in private owned spaces and that anpr companies can auto-issue tickets and they claimed this was a public interest matter etc? I mean if you are in a private space, what happens if you sue the landowner and the landowner says sorry not me, because i subleased the land and the subleaser broke the contract? How ridiculous is it for individuals to suffer like this because of the new focus on COMMUNITY over individual aka communism or communitarianism?

The shenanigans about the legal basis for obtaining DVLA data has nothing to do with the new Code of Practice.

Nothing to do with the upcoming Public Consultation, which is about the appropriate and proportionate level of parking charges and the banning of false added 'debt recovery fees'.

I was on the DLUHC Steering group and I helped shape the new law.
We are nearly there, apart from the delay, but you do need to slow down, stop reading one thing and assuming it means something else.
