Glad you survived, Dandytf. Those Leds not working won't be anything to do with the wiring of the supply. They've probably suffered from the same moisture that has caused the rusting on the front panel.

I'm amazed this was purchased in 2012. it looks like it was bought in 1912 - not meaning to be horrible, but what causes an oven to degrade so in under 8 years?

Perhaps the knocks from moving the cooker was enough to shake loose a connection. I guess they are mini neon lamps rather than LEDs.

are you suggesting the internal wiring at top is wrong.

I'm not suggesting anything. I'm stating a simple fact.

The red wires, which are the line/live are going into the terminal marked "Neutral" and the black neutral wires are connected to the terminal marked as "Line".

It's not your fault as it was a mistake by whoever originally connected it up and it won't cause any problems but it's still incorrect.

Final remark for cooker re installation.
Electrician to <5 mins connected and every led is working again-neutral was definitely a bit loose

Thanks mser's -particularly the earlier comment of lifting kitchen floor could occur hidden unexpected cost.
Also some excellent tips on flooring type/
Some expected and Unexpected electric tips and comments.

Intend to find my way to home diy thread hopefully request some bedroom painting tips for next year!

    One other thing to add.

I know that it won't cause any problems as both the input and output to the terminals are crossed but the red and black cables are fitted in the wrong positions.
The red is currently in the neutral terminal and black in the line.
I'm no expert - in fact I'm probably as clueless as the OP - but I always had it drummed into me that reverse polarity = possible electric shock - e.g. if you attempted to change the element without isolating at the consumer unit first.

And the OP strikes me as someone who'd attempt to change an element without isolating at the consumer unit first.

If the connector block as red and black for line and neutral presumably those horrors predate 2012. So the Currys installer must have just carried on as if nothing was wrong. Unless of course they reversed the polarity at the cooker end too ;)
