A Question for Tory Supporters

I would never vote for someone who wasted their time doing such manipulative things.
A fellow lifetime abstainer / ballot-spoiler. Rock on brother.
Like it or not, part of the job of an MP is to press the flesh, to bring the reflected glory of the Crown out to the sticks, like Prometheus bringing fire. To let the insignificant tribute-payers know that London cares. That means attending fetes, kissing babies and pinning rosettes on prize llamas. You won't find a single MP that doesn't unless they are very lazy and complacent about their safe seat.
No MP refuses to attend fetes so they can get on with some useful work, because they don't have any.0 -
I said the trope was that all people on benefits were stealing from the hard workers or are poor because of poor prioritization. Undoubtedly some are (we all know a few) but they are by far the exception rather than the rule.
NB: When I say defraud, I include those things which are allowed but morally unable to be justified - such as having kids for the purpose of claiming benefits.
Still a tiny percentage of tax money lost there compared to tax evasion though, and I'm happy to pay for a few chancers if it means those that need it, get it.
Compared to their county the UK is paved with gold.
I dont work so that I can support those people, we should be stopping them or sending them back.0 -
So, what actually would it take? If Boris Johnson came to your house, babbled incoherently, smashed the windows of your car, handed you a P45, set fire to your shed, kicked you in the goolieknackers and walked off with your significant other - would that actually finally be the last straw? I'm genuinely curious.
All it's taken for me to vote Tory is the incessant, childish, incoherent attacks from those that oppose them, ones like yours in fact!“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0 -
I'm voting Tory mainly just to get one over on the other side. We've had constant insults from remainers and labour supporters over the past 2 years.
It's now time to punish the betrayal at the ballot box.
Ps. I used to be a Labour supporter!Ryan0 -
I'm voting Tory cos I saw a video yesterday on telly with Boris in his kitchen saying he likes Marmite, The Clash and the Rolling Stones and he made oven chips yesterday and they were nice.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0

All it would take for me to not vote Tory is for the PM to turn up at any tragedy I was personally involved in. Be that pretending to care, pretending to work or pretending he will do something constructive.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

You and me both.
I’m really hoping Labour and it’s 2017 Brexit betrayal reduces them to an irrelevant rump in the next parliament. Such wanton duplicity needs to punished big time.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
I have always voted Conservative as have my children (one is even a member of the Conservative party and harbours political career aspirations) although I have always been more of a moderate with a few liberal leanings than completely right. None of us are entirely sure who to vote for next month.
It's not so much Brexit (we all voted to remain) but more with the direction things are going in the party. That said, I don't think I could ever vote Labour with a clear conscience either, nor do we want the current confusion and damage to the country to continue which could/would happen with a hung parliament....arrgghh!
I think we've got a lot of reading/sifting and decision making to do in the next month. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
There really is no 'good' party for most people to vote for. I really feel for a lot of you having to figure out which the least bad decision is and hold your nose.
If you're voting for self-destruction because someone was mean to you on the internet, or to watch the world burn, then you are an absolute cretin. Sorry if it's harsh, but it's true.
It sort of amuses me that you'd be willing to bring in the Tories and their Brexit to try and spite someone like me, whilst I'm sitting pretty confident you'll suffer worse under it than I will.0
