Child - posting a 20 year old photo of Jimmy Saville wearing a 'vote conservative' t-shirt.

What next - how about a witty photo of Neville Chamberlain to prove Tories shouldn't be trusted with european negotiations?

How about a video of the current Prime Minister explaining why his deal for Northern Ireland is excellent because it allows them to keep free movement & gives them access to the single market (ie, exactly what he won't let the rest of the country have)?

If we're not allowed to talk about the ghastly people who have supported the Tories in the past, or the ghastly cruel policies that have led to the deaths of over 100,000 people, how about I quote Boris Johnson's appalling racism, sexism, and homophobia?

Well I can't directly quote this horrible, bigoted man's writings because it would breach forum rules. That's right, I can't write what the Prime Minister has written and said, because it is too unpleasant, racist and homophobic to repeat here.

So you'll just have to click on these links:

Amber Rudd famously said Boris Johnson is not the man you want driving you home at the end of the evening. I don't think you'd want him driving you anywhere.

Don't stand by and let this creep into power again!

Who do you want to be in power then?

It can't possibly be that creep Corbyn who:
    • supported the IRA and opposed the NI Peace Process.
    • suggested the Falkland Islands should be shared with Argentina.
    • supported Jew-haters.
    • supported Iran's propaganda campaign.
So who do you want to be in power?

There seems to be an irrational attitude among Tory supporters that just because the PM has said and done terrible things, it is OK to vote for him because Corbyn has his faults too. This is just an argument fur supporting neither of them.

But I suppose we need to remember that Johnson is a jolly nice chap who went to Eton and Oxford. The fact he does not have the bottle to debate with sixth formers is also not relevant

Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

I'm not sure it is irrational to go with "the devil you know", many people would call it pragmatism.

At the end of the day I'm quite happy to have Corbyn around as Labour cannot possibly win the election while Corbyn is the party leader. :p

The Borgia Pope Alexander VI wasn’t exactly a paragon of virtue. Surely God couldn’t possibly have wanted such a morally bankrupt man to head the Church of Rome? With hindsight however there were few other candidates who could have navigated the church through the turbulent times ahead and played different factions off against each other, ensuring its continued independence.

I’m pretty sure Jeremy Hunt would have haemorrhaged votes to the Brexit party in the coming election and we’d have ended up with a hung parliament and increasing national strife. The right man for the job doesn’t always have to be decent and honourable.

Just so we are all caught up, let's not leave out JRM's appalling assertion that the people who died in Grenfell did so because they were just too working class and stupid not to save them themselves.

Yes, this idiots idea of an intellectual believes he would have saved himself due to his social superiority. Naturally, he's in Johnson's cabinet. Of course he is.

Was an important part of the piece process.

Power sharing with Argentina was going to be adopted by Thatcher before the invasion.

Supported the rights of the Palestinian people to live without state sanctioned terror, as supported by countless UN human rights resolutions.

Was on Iranian TV being interviewed.

Even if everything you had (wrongly) asserted was true, he'd still be a better choice than the giant racist Eton sulk. As it is, he's a decent principled man that has dedicated his career to fighting racism and has voted entirely consistently with his values.

Which is why Tory supporters like you hate him.

Do you have any actual evidence of any of this?

The Falklands issue is separate and I don't really have a problem with his stance.

  • I'm very envious of those of you who live in marginal seats where your vote really will count. I'm in a gammon-eating, Brexit-loving constituency where the previous Tory MP had a >20,000 majority.
