Jut updating your record now does not negate the last 6 years. if anything it makes it look even more suspicious.
You say you have no idea if your nan is on means tested benefits. I suggest you find out pretty quickly because its quite likely you may have dropped them in it as well.
What happened when the forms arrived, as they do each year, asking who lives at the property? Which form had your name on, mums or nans?
What address does the doctor have for you? Where do work think you live? Is your driving licence updated to nans because if not then that is another thing that should have been done by law.0
