Been naughty and got a NIP for 92 on the M25. Not denying it, I know it was wrong.

So, I've had no points for years, is this likely to be a court job or a hefty FPN and points?

As i understand it probably a standard FPN or maybe a speed awareness course if it was 92 on a motorway with no aggravating circumstances such as bad weather, workers on the road, or an unsafe vehicle etc..
  • Too fast for a Speed Awareness Course as the upper limit for these is 86 but OK for a FPN (3 points and £100 fine) as it is between 87 and 96.

    So you've had points before.
Maybe try and keep to the speed limit in future, eh?

If someone has been driving for years yet there ability is so poor surely they need some driving lessons and a retest. If they have previous convictions they are obviously a hardened criminal and should have their licence revoked and they should be jailed.

It's what annoys me about speed awareness courses - people who get caught are totally aware of the speed they are going. They know that they shouldn't do it. They know that excessive speed can cause a potential accident to be much more catastrophic and even fatal for themselves, their passengers and anyone else involved.

But they don't care. And a course won't change that.

Like the OP. To be caught doing 96 means his speedo would have been reading 100mph+. All he cares about is how much this might cost him.

That'll be me then. :D Test passed in 1974 and nothing but a parking ticket in 1976. (Been very lucky though :rotfl:)

    92 in a 70 you're looking at a FPN as stated above.

Take it on the chin and learn from it.
