Put foil under the lid.0

I always lie my tea cosy on its side on top of the lid of my slow cooker to keep the heat in, perhaps this would help keep the lid down more tightly too.0

My lid that came with the slow cooker isnt tight and it has a little air hole in it.0

JIL so does mine. I always assumed it was to regulate the heat in order to stop the evaporation of all the liquid. However, I am no scientist so make it up as I go along! Today, I have sweet potato, pumpkin and chestnut jollof bubbling away.0

Personally I wouldn't want the lid to be too tightly fitting. Many recipes adapted for SC can be too watery and that could make them worse.1
