Am I entitled to a refund/partial refund

I've been to the pleasure beach several times and they are very good at dealing with complaints if you make them constructively. They allowed me to change the date on some tickets I'd bought at a cheap price because I booked for a fixed date and discovered that a couple of the big rides we enjoy were going to be closed. I've also made use of the rainy-day return policy which is a good one.
If you ask nicely and constructively you may get something like a discount off another visit. You're not entitled to a refund and I'd be surprised if they bothered to refund such a small sum, other than to make you go away.0 -
You ‘had’ to spend money in that additional hour?
No, you chose to.
Be thankful they let you leave an hour early
In all seriousness, given that you’re half-expecting a full refund due to think I think you need to seriously re-align your expectations of what’s reasonable and what isn’t.
This isn’t a big deal.0 -
It's not as easy as asking 11% of the ticket cost. The OP might have planned to stay from 5pm to 7pm, they would then be missing out on 50%
Unless OP specifically told them they were only using it 5-7 and/or booked and paid by the hour, I fail to see why you'd be comparing what they were expecting to use versus what they actually used rather than what was contractually promised (a day ticket with park opening times of 9 hours) versus what was actually supplied (a day ticket with park opening times of 8 hours).
It would be like buying a 30 day subscription and the company suspending services 2 days before the end - the fact you didn't use them for the first 3 weeks wouldn't entitle you to more of a refund than someone who had.You keep using that word. I don't care for the advice given by previous. No 18
I would say if you were not able to take advantage of park attractions ask for a rebate but this would probably be on future bookings. This you will probably get.
Asking for an actual refund for money they have is very much harder to get.
Hope you enjoyed your time in Blackpool nevertheless. I love it down there, there is a snobbish attitude toward it, usually from the south. And yet Margate and Southend seem to be on a pedestal on here and on TV.

I agree. As a southerner (Kent), I enjoy the place. It's one of the few remaining old seaside towns that still has that excitement factor I experienced as a child. True, if you look at it objectively it is a scruffy old English seaside town, but if you go there with the intention of having a bit of fun and not taking it too seriously, it's a great place to visit.I don't care for the advice given by previous. You're so right about southern "resorts" and snobbishness. There are a number of places that seem to get a favourable press despite being very similar to Blackpool. Places like Margate and Brighton for example. And don't get me started on places like Southwold, Broadstairs and Whitstable, each of which is held up to be something they're not. They're all nice in their own way but not the "destinations" they are held up to be.
As for Blackpool Pleasure Beach, I maintain its head and shoulders above Alton Towers, Chessington and Thorpe Park, all of which cost much more and at all of which you spend hours queueing, whereas the Pleasure Beach is comparatively good value and much less crowded.0 -

I live about 25 miles from Brighton and I used to enjoy going there for a Friday or Saturday evening night out or spending the day there on Saturday.
That was about 20 years ago. Nowadays, as far as I'm concerned it's one of the grottiest coastal towns in the area and I wouldn't go there now if you paid me.0 -

Are you sure you're quoting the right post or do you have some sort of issue with how the law assesses damages for breach of contract? Putting aside the fact that there doesn't seem to be a breach of contract here from what the OP themselves have said. You keep using that word.
