Am I entitled to a refund/partial refund

Hi

Newbie here, and I’m just trying to fin out my rights.

A group of 16 of us visited Blackpool pleasure beach and purchased tickets 10 days in advance.

When we purchased the opening hours displayed were 10am till 7pm. When we arrived we was advised the park would be closing earlier...at 6.

I asked why was this as the weather was ok etc.. and all they said was it’s in your terms and conditions.

We purchased these tickets on the understanding it closed at 7... they was no communication advising us the park was closing earlier then advertised times nor offer of partial refund. I can see 100s of complaints / bad reviews regarding the same thing. Am I entitled to a refund?

Thanks in advance.

Is there really 100s of complaints re closing an hour early?

What refund are you looking for ?

You could ask for 11%. Which is how long it was closed for, how much did you pay.

    Assuming this isn’t a wind up ,

If it was me I would forget it

    Did you stay until 6?

If closing earlier affected you I'd certainly try and get some goodwill gesture from them. According to their T&Cs they could close most of the day at their discretion which is hardly fair.
  • Thanks for your reply’s,

I appreciate that it states in the terms and conditions however if you google this they do this on a regular basis or read the review on trip advisor.

Yes we stayed until 6... and we intended on staying until 7 due to the light switch on as result of closing earlier we had to do other activities for the lost time which resulted in us spending more money.

If it was adverse weather or something major happened on the park which justified them closing early I could understand and wouldn’t be bothered. But would this be accepted if you bought goods online say for example a pack of 3 tops but terms state if they fancied sending you 2 that they could.

Clearly in my opinion it’s a money making excersise I have complained to them but not expecting to get anywhere after reading up online just wanted to know what my rights are.

I asked what 11% of the ticket cost is?

You didn’t have to spend more money while waiting for the lights, that was your choice

How do you think it’s a Money making exercise for them?

Staying open an hour later means people would poss spend more on other things, of course labour costs would be higher but the ticket price wouldn’t change

As for the 3 tops analogy that is not even comparible

It's not as easy as asking 11% of the ticket cost. The OP might have planned to stay from 5pm to 7pm, they would then be missing out on 50%
  • Sorry, the ticket price was £25 each but they was 16 of us.

irrelevant as the park was open from 10am, so was available to use

have you asked for £2.75 back each. not that they will entertain it.

is it worth getting stressed about for £2.75

I'd be more stessed about having to go to Blackpool in the first place. What a dive behind the facade.
