Love it!  We could often do with a friendly local farmer!

Arrggh! Keep forgetting this thread....Love your palm. Sea goes out quite a long way in the Midlands though. :/
Carrying on from where I left off.....We'd pulled out the 6.4m Catnic support beam that was looming in our kitchen/diner and removed the flat roof, but next we had to put in a more substantial steel before building the gable wall:
This steel would be above the new ceiling, but how to get it in? Answer bung a few ££ to a farmer with a telehandler:

Oi, mate, watch that inspection cover!
    More shortly :)
Not a steel, but tractors do come in handy.  A couple of granite lintels for a barn extension some years ago.

Well, we have gas, electric and water meters.  How glamorous!

First fix electrics were banged out this week and the first fix of plumbing is nearly done.  It's a LOT faster than renovating.  I could very easily be swayed to building new houses.  What a breeze!  It's not all that photogenic though.

The electrician has put Cat 5 cables in by the TV points.  We agreed on Wednesday that we weren't, but the husband has since decided to 'future proof' us as a surprise.  I don't even know what to do with it and I bet he doesn't either. Do we just plug it into a smart TV and that makes the internet more reliable than wifi?

Should I be running it to the Sonos speakers as well, now I actually have it?

Is that where my router has to live now?

    Meet the Cat 5.

I don't even know what wall of my house this is!  I've been working in London the last few days.

Edit: On second thoughts, it's my pantry.  He's putting the fuse board in there and is apparently intent on ensuring that nothing else goes in there other than electrics.  I swear every storage cupboard is now filled with manifolds or electrical junk. 🙄

I'm also going to need some help on what to do with a half dead palm tree!   I'll take a photo later.

My 'little boy' levelling up his shower tray.  This has frustrated me as we've had to lift it up about 25mm to get the fall correct.  The drainage was set a bit too high in the concrete.  Yellow bucket for checking the draining rate multiple times.

I've got to work out how to disguise it without it looking bad.  How is it that all our clients get perfect shower trays and yet we don't?!

That's my husband.  I tell him every day.  I even told him that day that his failure to tie his laces will eventually kill him.

My friend shattered both kneecaps during lockdown when she tripped on her laces! 😵
