One of the symptoms of spending all the money you own is the inability to sleep properly.
Hence the regular flurry of 5am posts coming from this direction of late.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

My cousin also came to stay last October for two weeks and is still here, but he's on his own as far as I'm concerned!
Nice and easy then, lol
I nearly moved out when we had a kitchen and a few other bits redone - surprisingly hard to live with, I didn't know I was such a wimp. All our neighbours get major work done when they aren't there - they're obviously wiser :rotfl:0 -

No idea where we'll live. Not relatives, not camping and not in a caravan!
When we moved into this house, it was gutted. My husband removed a section of the back wall while I was out shopping on a Saturday afternoon, with nothing to replace it with, and on another occasion shut the heating and hot water off overnight without warning me. It was mid-November. The whole family moved into the Holiday Inn Express, courtesy of these forums for £30 a night. We were like Alan Partridge.
I'd like to be a little better prepared this time. I said I would never live in a project again before we moved into this house and I'm definitely not doing it again after that episode!
First build we did a caravan which was no fun, back then we didn't have children, second time around we hung onto our now first build, but still moved into this far too soon as we were desperate to get some rent in, nothing worse than living in a dusty grimy shell that your moving tools from room to room and achieving little.0 -
Count me in, Doozergirl. I shall be interested to follow your progress but then I always was a [STRIKE]nosy cow[/STRIKE] person with a strong sense of curiosity.1

The women on there always end up pregnant and I have theory that Kevin is the lowest common denominator. One can never be too careful!

Imgur.com is an excellent image host that allows remote linking - you can embed those pictures into posts on mse as I did so recently for some plastering advice 👍🏼0

Hi DG, we built our house in France from scratch, we bought an ex-seaside rental mobile home and lived in it for a year. All OK except the water pipes under it being frozen each morning, we soon learnt to fill the kettle before going to bed.
It was to our own design but we had to have the drawings done professionally to get planning.0 -
