My procrastination pays off sometimes. The Tado is half price because it's Amazon Prime Day! £152 instead of £300 for two smart thermostats. Better!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

It's been a while! We moved in on the 7th November with no paint on the walls and no carpet. We have some paint downstairs and the kitchen is near enough finished. We had OSB for worktops until recently. The kitchen is finished at one end! It's not exactly MSE but I found the kitchen at a beautiful showroom in London, but managed to find it for half the price in the Black Country. We fell in love with the worktop which we paid less for despite adding the waterfall sides. The chairs were £50 for all four of them from Facebook marketplace and the lights were discontinued so in a sale. The appliances we got at near-cost by being in the right place at the right time and I took advantage of my SIL's
NHS discount for the TV 😬You have a non-instagram shot. The shiny instagram picture can be found at @theoldscrapyard
Here's a preview of the front too. We've finally finished the facade with burnt larch. It needs cleaning and touching up and the disaster that the water company made us put in on the left also needs covering. 🤬Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Great to see your progress! Can I ask why you chose larch rather than the typical cedar? Does it age differently?1

Looks amazing! I guess you don't have any small people around - that dining table and chairs just screams 'finger marks' to me. I have enough problem keeping the glass splashback behind my hob clean!#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

Siberian Hamsters love to eat that type of larch.
Or perhaps that only happens in Torquay.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".1 -

Doozergirl said:Brave going for similar colour for units and top - but, wow, it works. What kind of top is that? The splashback - tiles or brick slips? That is a 'gasp' kitchen :-)
