Evening all,
Must be a week for cats...we have had two 'lurking' around the garden lately, one black and white and one completely black...not sure of sex of either but young cats by their appearance. Luca, (almost 13 and king of all he surveys since our dog had to be put to sleep this time last year) is not impressed with these two and almost had a stroke when the black one tried to come in through the kitchen door earlier...tail is still wagging, never a good sign, and he is asleep on the chair behind me at present...while the other eejit is outside the door waiting to get a chance to come in!
Mrs Mix, glad that you are home, take care.
Ellie...take care of yourself, hope that you feel better soon
PenPin...you are marvellous to even consider going on with your course...only thing I would say is to think about what you are going to fill your time with if you defer, if you keep going will it give you a lift and make you feel better?
Hester...glad that you are standing back...you have done all you can, love the term!
Elona...waterglass is also known as 'isinglass'...I think that I bought some many years ago in a chemists. Never preserved eggs myself but my aunt who is now 98 used to preserve them every summer when they were cheap for the winter.
Aussie....good looking dishcloth, keep going.
Donnygal....don't forget to post finished pictures...am more interested by the day in other people's kitchens, looking for ideas to steal for mine.
Kyle...happy birthday to OH for to-morrow
Pink...walked my feet off getting dress for DD1 and it cost £250 in 1989, about three times what I could afford...before limos and she always did her own hair and make up so didn't cost too much in that way. Totally agree that it is crazy, never spent as much on any of the other 3 girls.
Anniestar...yes it is cold, I am frozen these days, need to persuade myself to start putting on socks as I know that is making things worse. Hope you get your pc problems fixed. Am on facebook but get a bit annoyed with it...don't know why.
Hugs to all not mentioned, to those in any pain and to those who are missing

Hi all.
I went to the doctor's this afternoon and they've increased the strength of my medication so hopefully things will settle again.
I'm back to the hospital soon for my test results, so will see how much nerve damage there is. The doctor mentioned me having an operation again, as it might improve things, but there is a 50-50 chance of it going wrong.
Just thinking about it upsets me, let alone actually going to have it done.:(
We had a lovely dinner tonight - battered cod and noodles. DD1 stuck with pizza and spaghetti as she wont even try fish, but at least she cooked it herself, so I didn't have to make two seperate meals.
DD2 thinks she saw something move in the kitchen, so I'm not sure if we have another mouse:mad:
Glad you had a nice time shopping whatatwit.
Hope you're feeling better ellie.

Hi! Hurray it's Friday! :j :j
Hope everyone is fine and dandy.
Just a quickie from me as I've got 2 (lazy tea) pizzas in the oven. DH came home from work feeling a little low so I've made some of his favourite mars bar choc crispy bars. They must have about a zillion calories in them but they taste gorgeous.
I've been busy this week with helping do the xmas shoeboxes at the warehouse, helping at the church drop-in, food and xmas shopping (which I've nearly done), housework and work. I'll catch up with the thread over the weekend so have a good evening everyone!0 -

Hello everyone
Thanks for your good wishes regards my visit to the dentist. I ran around like I was trapped in a whirlwind this morning to ensure I got there on time. After negotiating the traffic jam from hell, I only had to do four circuits of the car park to find somewhere to dump my car....and woohoo, I was right on time. Then I got to the door of the dentist's and there was a notice saying "We have moved, our new address is...":mad::mad::wall::wall::wall::wall:
What a bunch of numpties - they had not told me they had moved, in fact the appointment card has the old address on it. I called them up, they have the same tel number, and didn't get so much as a grunt when I told them I had no idea they had moved. Anyway, I had to go on to wo*k, no time to drive all the way across town. I am only sticking with this practice because I am an NHS patient with them - had I been a private patient I'd have dropped them like a hot potato.
Shez, hope your trip to the dentist is a bit less pointless than mine.
JannyAnnie - ooooo your poor son and his broken molar. People have said that a broken tooth is the absolute worst and most intense pain they have experienced (and women who have given birth have also said this!). Mind you, I broke four teeth in recent years, and none of them hurt at all. I must be made of stone or something
Ellie, hope you feel better soon.
Blairweech, how did the interview go? I trust you got there!!
Hester, go on, persuade your lodger to show you what she bought. If it's at all tarty then you will know that she knows she's supposed to spend evenings with her Uncles in a horizontal position.
LauraJayne...errr, hope you don't mind me asking, but how did you sprain your jaw???????
AnnieStar...fingers, toes and ankles crossed you get your computer sorted out. It sounds like it is currently driving you potty...
It's time to put the washing machine on... Oh what a scintillating way to spend Friday evening...
Good night all.

Evening all
excitement at work today as a load of serious actor types turned up to give evidence in court. Don't think I can say who as the case is part heard but I smiled and said "hello, lovely to see you again" to a man that I recognised as a rep I hadn't seen for a while only to realise some hours later that i had in fact recognised him from off the telly - poor s*d's probably stepping up home security right now.
Big hugs to anyone who's got the poorlies esp pipkin, pen-pin, mrs mix and nicola1982 and anyone else I,ve missed
Elona i think Isinglass is used for clearing wines so you might be able to get it from a largish wilkos that does winemaking supplies - don't know how much you would need though.
Kyle your OH shares his birthday with dgs so he's in good company - he will be 32 years younger than OH and blah blah years younger than Twinkmy lovely friend just called to remind me that it was exactly three years ago that she handed my dd a flake - she was so excited that her waters broke as she took the first bite. right - off to make the lumberjack cake for dgs tomorrow
have a good evening allI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
