Morning all,
Pollyanna, Welcome :hello:
Snowy, good luck at the dentist.
Twit, your nanna sounds great!
tiredmum, <<hugs>> for your ds. I’m glad he had a good day yesterday.
joannasmum, I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better today.
mrs mix, it’s good to hear the op went well…try to rest up.
catowen, enjoy tomorrow with your sister.
natzini, <<hugs>> I hope you feel better soon.
taplady, enjoy your days off.
It’s freezing here this morning but it’s lovely and bright too which is great after three days of solid drizzle. Ds2 doesn’t go into school until 11.20 as it’s the second eleven plus paper here today so he’s enjoying playing with his planes. I wish he’d think of another game though, as it’s too early in the morning to listen to airport noises.
Dd has her school formal tonight. She’s really looking forward to it but I will be glad when it’s over. She has talked of nothing else for the past two months and the amount of money she has spent on this one night out is beyond belief. The dress alone cost £200, never mind the wrap, the shoes, the bag, the hair, the makeup, the manicure, the pedicure, the limo hire, the photographer, the meal etc. I just can’t get my head around such an appalling waste of money. Maybe I’m just an old skinflint.Anyway, I hope they all have a fantastic night.
Today I’m going to do some housework and I need to sort out the cupboard under the pc…I tend to shove stuff there and forget about it so it’s a complete mess. The bathrooms are already done and the children’s beds have been stripped…well two of them have, the other is still occupied by ds1. This afternoon I’m going to do some batch cooking as I’m back to work tomorrow for a seven day stint, so it makes life easier if I can just grab something from the freezer each day for tea.
Off to make a coffee to try to warm up.
Have a good day everyone.

G'dday possums
Well I'm one tired Ninny tonight. DGS has been really good for me the last couple of days with only one ticking off today. Throwing his thong at the bird having a drink in my bird bath didn't go down well, especially after he took the buds off my then budding daisies.XDIL is catching the ferry as I type. DD is staying at a girlfriends tonight. Off to the city in the morning to shop. Lucky ducks.
Well I'm sorry to say it's not freezing here today. It's warm and sunny.
Natzini Hope you feel better soon.
MrsMix Take it easy.
Whatawit I"m posting my dishcloth. I suppose your's is a masterpiece.I think I cast on too many. It's an odd shape.
Well hope you all have a great day. Byeeeeeeeeee
Oh I forgot. Shame you were pretty pathetic in the football and didn't get in. Never mind.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all!
Hope you're all doing ok - hugs for those in need.
Well, I've not been feeling great - thought I had another abcess in the other ear (not good). Went to the doctors and found out I've sprained my jaw
Been OSing like mad with fudge and choccy making...even started menu planning again. Spent £60 last Saturday in Morrisons, which is quite an acheievement for us as it's normally £100+
Visiting my parents friend tonight/tomorrow - I'm housesitting for her in Decemeber so getting the grand tour, so a night off for me
Take care all

Hi Guys!!
Hope everyone is well and keeping ok.
Feeling abit better this morning but just so slow in doing anything as joints/muscles keep locking up and cant move. Had an extra steroid injection this morning but not done much yet....I really just need shooting!!
WM has been on and clothes out on the line. DW has been on and emptied and toilet cleaned. Everywhere pretty tidy and all clean, so not too bad.
The Thai chicken went down a treat the other night and had enough left over to freeze a few portions. We also had cheese & potatoe pie last night with spagetti which we have never had before and was scrummy and so easy to do.
Sold another £39 worth on Ebay yesterday and transferred £50 to the savings account, so have quite abit saved now for "extras" and "treats". Also listed another 20 items yesterday as I was bored and at least it was warm indoors. OH took a charity bag to the local shop which I havent been able to shift on Ebay. Also received £4 in vouchers this morning, £25 from Argos for a complaint and £5 off Sky next month as I converted points from CC to the bill. Also, £98 in credit with the rent:j :j :j :j
Still dont know what to do regarding my courseIf I defer, I will have to wait till next Oct 08 too start again, but I would have that time to get myself more together and maybe healthwise a lillte better. Or I can muddle through and try my hardest and keep asking for extensions??? Help and advice needed please????
Anyway, hugs to all.

Feels cold here so am sitting at the computer about to make a pot of tea so I can warm up.
Think DH might have switched on the central heating :j :j
DD(13) has a teacher training day at school so she has gone on a sleepover till Sunday morning with one of her friends.
DD(18) has gone back to uni having spent about 48 hours being cooked for and looked after and spending time with her sisters to relax. It was lovely to have her home and to "spoil" her a little.
Need to phone the solicitors later to see what is happening with the sale of my dad's flat - it should have been completed on the 2nd!!!!
Might make shepherd's pie tonight - what do you call it if it is meatfree???
Gardener's pie???? Will do sprouts for DH as he is the only one that likes them.
It will seem strange to only have two DDs at home!
Wondering what the lodger bought at Primark? Red underwear? Strapless dress?

Hi PP
I have recently taken the decision to defer until October next year. Now that I have made the decision, I know it is the right thing to do as I was not able to give 100% to my course, due to my health.

Aussie,
your DGS throwing his thong at the birds :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: thongs here are skimpy pants up your b*m cheese wire type of things, lets hope it was not one of them
Pen Pin, re your course, I think I would be inclined to defer it for a year, it might let you get back on top health wise, what ever you decide will work out fine, but put your health first xxx0 -

I thought the same thing but think that is what they call a sandal or flip flop -
at least I hope so!
Meant to ask in last post but forgot - does anyone know where to buy "Waterglass" or sodium silicate? I wanted to show DD how they used to preserve eggs in the winter in the old days."This site is addictive!"

Hello,
Not having too good a day here - am seriously sore from yesterdays manual labour! OH had to wash my hair for me this morning as I can't lift my arms :S. I have an interview at 2.00 today, but could I remember where the bloody hell I'm supposed to be going! And of course the Jobcentre have deleted the job off the website . And now my printer is broken so I can't actually print my CV. I can see I will have to dash to the library.
Not sure what the plans for later are. Bit of this, bit of that I suppose
Oh yeh - I have more work in the place I was working yesterday - sunday afternoon, tuesday and wednesday night. I get paid £10 an hour for sunday, and £7.50 an hour for nights, so I'm pleased.
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0
