    hi everyone

i havent posted for a long time, but read posts whenever i get spare time (rare).

i cannot believe how many people are in the same boat as me, nor how many children seem to have Aspergers

maybe Aspies are normal - and we are the "weird" ones???

my eldest son is now 11 and was diagnosed with having AS and Dyspraxia mid 2007.
we have fought for this diagnosis for 6 years.

we have always known there was something not quite right.

having the diagnosis makes a HUGE difference to me.
before i would get angry with him when he went into a trance at a supermarket and "showed me up" :o
whereas now i am a lot more patient????

by the way - he is also called Ryan !?!?!

I get upset a lot recently as I just dont find the time to spend with him, listening to him go on and on about football facts (i have 2 babies).

ryan spends most of his time on his own and seems to prefer it this way.
i feel guilty because sometimes i am relieved as it makes things easier for me. :o

i feel like a terrible parent

Hi Sunflower just a quickone as I'm off to pick up DS3 YOU ARE NOT A TERRIBLE PARENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    :D:D:D
Glad you found us must run or I'll be late then I'll get my shins kicked

    Hi Sunflower,

OMG, when we named him we was told by people they knew several Ryans that were all 'difficult' children and we laughed, oh how we laughed...... Maybe in the future there will be a warning in those baby names books, maybe we have jinxed our kids by calling them Ryan. And, I don't know if I have noticed this more because my DS is called Ryan and because of what we got told but whenever we go anywhere the one name always being yelled out by mums and dads is always Ryan and it is always a Ryan that is being a pain in the !!!. Makes me smile everytime. Have a listen next time.......

So there we have it, I guess we jinxed our kids with the name!!

DH in soon, must make it look like I have been busy, LOL, busy doing now't but having spent the last 5 days cleaning the house (I was on my hands and knees at 7am.......... cleaning the kitchen floor! I bet you are envious of my life) I deserve some time out and to catch up with my MSE Buddies!!!

    For you again Sunflower,

no, your son sounds just like mine and often prefer to play alone so you should not feel bad. if he wanted you he would be clamouring for it. DS can turn from not wanting any to asking for a cuddle so he must be happy playing on his own. ind you, just what satifaction you can get from playing with Big Loader for (what is now going on for) 3 hours is beyond me. He got it out at 11.30 and it has been running all that time (I just changed the battery) he just wants the damn things running all day. Anyone else have that? He can be in a different room but if I turn it off he will be back in turn it on again. Well, school run for me too.

    Tootles xx

I was told exactly the same about the name 'Ryan' - but it MUST be a coincidence......surely....??:o

I wouldn't change him for the world though.

Anyway, school run time, wish me luck....every day I get that feeling of dread rising up the closer I get to school, just in case he has had a meltdown.

And Sunflower - you are not a bad parent hun - not even close!!!

big hugs to all of you going to collect your children, i used to dread it, never knowing what mood my sons were in what the teachers would say etc.
much better now they in secondary school, and they get a taxi home, and during the rids home they've usually had time to calm down
enjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)

OMG - we did, we cursed them from birth. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

That is the funniest thing, is that 4 on this post now!!

He did not have a name for 10 days until we said that we must find a name and just scouted through the names and picked one blind. When I was pg I wanted Charlie but he did not look like a Charlie when he was born. I was going to chrsiten him Charles though so when he was wealthy and important he would have a proper name and then he was Chas or Charlie to his mates. You have to think of these things!! :o :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just to make it spookier... he does look like your little one Snaggles but he has a tinge of red in his hair but the same cut and the same cheeky grin.

Oddly enough I wanted Charlotte (which would have also been shortened to Charlie) if he was a girl!
