Virgin Mobile moving to O2's network?

I recently tried to leave EE and switch to Virgin Mobile in order to get a cheaper sim only deal but stay on EE's network. EE ended up getting close enough to the deal I wanted from Virgin, that I stayed with them, but the person I was talking to said that Virgin were in the process of switching to O2, starting with new customers, but eventually all customers. This was a big part of the reason I stayed with EE; I originally moved to them from O2 as I needed better coverage.

Has anyone heard the same? I couldn't find anything about it online (I did a very brief search). Although I am happy with my current deal, I can't help but think I was duped!

I'm a new Virgin Mobile customer and I'm on the EE network (via VM). Haven't heard anything about that anywhere to be honest.

No, I hadn't mentioned O2 before they said that VM were leaving. I just said that I wanted to stay on the network. I suppose they would have said the same to any of the virtual providers if I had mentioned them.

Not cool if I was lied to, but I got a deal I am happy with, without a load of hassle.

I presume they will have to give back the credit somehow!
