It's very unfair that Shell didn't mention  the cease charge on signing up and now its being applied for moving supplier after my contract has ended.
    Hi chrissy456,

I'm keen to know if you applied originally via MoneySavingExpert?
    Thanks,

    MSE Chris

I ma coming end of my Shell contract soon. Has anyone approached and had any good offers?
And they charge £15 to move to another provider.  I did read something about thison MSE before.

If you download and quote the document linked by @Mi@MiserlyMartin above you shouldn't get charged the termination fees if you move after your contract ends.
    Hi

The link isn't working is there another way of getting this document?  Thanks
    Hi,

It looks like Shell have updated the document on that link to reflect their current deals.

I had downloaded a copy myself and have attached it here. This is the version that includes the point about the cease charge not applying to customers signing up via MSE.

    Thanks,
    MSE Chris
  • My Go Live date is today, 7 September, and I was connected around 2 hours ago.  A swift speed check shows a download speed of 5.2 Mbps and an upload speed of 0.7 Mbps - not the 36 Mbps I was expecting for 'Superfast Fibre'.  How long before the speed will accurately reflect what I can expect/be happy with?  Thanks.

I just joined Shell Superfast Fibre Broadband. currently receiving 5gbps - estimated speed, 35MGPS (No idea if that is my actual speed I should be getting).  I tried to call the company, but could not find a phone number, so went on their chat. was originally advised it takes 10 days to settle, but then i was advised the fibre part had not been added, so in effect, I am getting the standard broadband.  minutes later, told BT outreach are being contacted and need to await a call back within 3 hours. not a good start to the company  especially as I am WFH  (COPIED FROM ANOTHER POST ON HERE)

    Usually ten days training .
But do not measure speed over wifi , measure speed at router .

Your estimated speed would be  UP TO .

Not sure about that think the 10 days is for ADSL.Fibre usually is best speed straight off?
  • Just joined Shell Fibre broadband no problems so far sign up and whole migration went smoothly.Speeds up to the maximum from day one.Shame Shell seem to have dropped MSE offers lately.
