Ah, The link in @MiserlyMartin post is different to that by @MSE_Chris a few posts above. I can see it in Chris' link but not in Martin's

If you download and quote the document linked by @Mi@MiserlyMartin above you shouldn't get charged the termination fees if you move after your contract ends.

I presume there is no option to do this or webchat in shell energy online account management (These offers are good for those PAYG out of contract but not those timing to switch at the end).Just another thing to confuse customers and keep them on their toes. It would be far simpler for ISPs to offer this facility, but I assume the effort involved is not worth the cost to them and they make money by charging early termination charges to those switching early and the new provider makes more by charging more than the first month's charge to new customers if the signing date isn't the same as their billing date.
Just facing this as switching from Shell to Plusnet to take up a Plusnet offer and avoid Shell's price hike.

Do you get a new router free when you sign up?0

My contract also is coming to an end and was emailed by Shell that a £15.00 cease charge will apply. I just rang Shell Energy today, and the customer service didn't know anything about MSE offer. I checked the T&C link posted above, it does say the MSE promotional period is 12-24th of August. I signed up on 6th of Sep, and pretty sure through MSE, so the £15 charge does apply to me? I'm very confused.0

It's very unfair that Shell didn't mention the cease charge on signing up and now its being applied for moving supplier after my contract has ended.0
