I don't want to spoon feed you. You can think for yourself,

However, I have a inkling that their strategy may have been 'if we say it's ML we can take our time, and hold on to the cash'. MH = Money hoarding by bank. Comprende?

Or transaction may have been flagged incorrectly by system. False positive. Banks screw up all the time. Just look at how the FOS is inundated with complaints.

If you think a bank with probably billions in customer deposits thinks like that you've never worked for one.

I have, they don't think like that.

And just look at who's a disproportionately significant contributor to that ;)

Around 10 complaints in last 8 years would be a drop in the ocean (in comparison).

...Surely this isn’t too complicated to resolve with all the facts black on white? I’m just very concerned as I myself will be without income in 2 weeks time.

Have you thought about voicing your concerns with your local MP? It may help out others who are experiencing similar.

So the guys investigating, I assume, don’t know this was mentioned in the branch and now I’m thinking when he spoke to complaints, when they rang him, should have told them.. We’ve decided to wait until the end of the week and then will write a formal complaint and definitely mention that. I’m pretty sure the poor lady could get in trouble (although I don’t wish that upon her).

The person in branch should/will have made a note of your comments and copied your paperwork onto the system. So the departments dealing with your issue can see the proof.

If you have already complained in branch, you have no need to write a formal letter of complaint as it will already be noted. Unless you agreed to their outcome (ie resolve your complaint) at that point.
If the person in branch has not done what they should then it needs flagging in. Or they will just keep doing the same. If is is tipping off over ML, then she needs retraining as that is a big no no as far as any bank staff are concerned.
