Hello Tuesday!
Glad to report its a bit warmer outside than it was yesterday! Brrrr
DFW I need everyone to wish me luck as I have a job interview today... really hope this is my time but who knows?! Been here many times this year and pipped at the post! Anyway im suited and booted and ready to go. Had an awful nights sleep with the little one but just got to ignore the tiredness and go for it.
Yesterday I made a wise decision and bought my study books for my course on a black friday deal. Admittedly didn't really have the funds for it but I'm self studying so i figured I can justify it and once I pass the exams it will be a real achievement.
Right I'm off but will report back later, interview at 1pm.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hi everyone and hello friday,
Thanks for the kind words everyone, interview went well i think. They are interviewing other candidates so I wont know until end of next week but I am just pleased to have had the interview and the area it was in was new to me so I was a tourist and taking lots of photos!
This week has flown by, not quite sure how or why. Toddler not sleeping the best due to a cold so been in a head fog! Yesterday was overtime shift and was fine, today I'm having a treat. With my little one's nursery we are going to the theatre to watch a show which will be a lot of fun whilst catching up with some of my mum friends. Tomorrow is a yukky long shift at work and thank goodness for sunday trading its a more human shift on sunday. I've bagged another overtime shift on tuesday but doing lates so a 9pm finish yuk! Cost neutral christmas is my goal though so needs must an all that.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Good morning sleepy wednesday,
Bloody awful sleep last night due to low mood and bunged up due to a cold - yuk!! Gutted as yesterday I was meant to be doing an overtime shift but I just had no energy. Anyway still not having enough sleep but I am in a better frame of mind this morning so I am up and cracking on with the day.
So tomorrow I have yet another interview. This one was an odd surprise. Applied for the role back in September and heard nothing and then boom out of nowhere I was offered the interview last week so today is full of interview prep.
On a different note; in a bid to be a bit more money wise going forward I have opened a christmas savings account with the Principality this morning. Can only afford to put away £10 per month currently but even with that it will be £130 in the bank next year towards christmas 2020.
I have also set the wheels in motion to move an expiring £430 balance transfer to my other balance transfer credit card. It was due to expire in early January and was originally planning to pay it off using savings but sadly I had to pay a tax bill so had to swop. One of my financial goals for 2020 is actually tackle paying off debt so I no longer need to balance transfer. This is of course a slow progress as my income is really low so my second priority is to actually up my earnings.
This week I've also joined the 'Save 12k in 2020' thread for my second year. Goal is £6k but not too fixed in this as income generation is my biggest problem atm!2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello festive monday! I'm quickly updating my diary whilst wrapping and indulging in christmas tv!
I have had the best christmas present early... I GOT THE JOB!!
So the last interview of 2019 which came about out of surprise and BOOM I was offered the job and gladly accepted. They are keen for me to start so we have agreed a 13th Jan start date, I've told my current employers who were lovely and were trying to make me an offer to stay but the new role and salary just can't match. So hopefully once I've settled down come March I can actually start tackling my debt head on rather than skirting around it which I have had for the past couple of years.
I defo need to review my wardrobe and make some small sensible workwear choices to get me off the ground and hoping the Jan sales will help.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Many thanks Mark88man and Darrannah, I am chuffed about the job.
I had the kids for christmas eve and most of christmas day and today they are with their dad having lots of fun and the house feels way too quiet! The living room looks like we had quite a party - I just been too relaxed to tackle the mess. Me and my partner did make it outside for a wet three laps walk of the park today, now he is in bed snoozing before heading off to work for his night shift. We are really lucky to live 5 mins from a smallish park. I've been there nearly every day for the past 4 days. Its been really nice just to get away from the madness of christmas and just get out in the fresh air.
So today in between relaxing I have had to tackle an important piece of admin - I'm going through a friendly divorce with my soon to be ex hubster and he needs me to complete a document listing our finances. I find this an utterly depressing but necessary 'decoupling' task. Anyway today is the first day in a long while I have had the headspace to tackle it.
As well as the paperwork, I've also checked my credit card balance and updated my spending spreadsheet. I think it will be a rocky couple of months money wise until I get christmas paid off and get my first proper pay from the new job. Pretty certain i'm going to be short in Jan pay because i'm leaving mid month and in the other job the salary is apparently paid every 4 weeks which is completely new to me so I have no idea if I miss the Jan cut off. Either way I pretty sure I'll be emergency taxed.
Moving forward though I am looking at starting driving lessons in the spring if I can. I last had lessons in 2005! This time though once I start I have to carry on until I pass the test. Its my declaration to myself and I want to pass before I turn 40 in December 2020 so the challenge is on!
Happy boxing day to everyone.... I'm feeling I should probably get off the computer and tackle the living room!2025 financial goals & challenges!
