Had a 10k price cut so far, more required though IMO.0 -

Biggest bedroom is 4x3 metres tiny!
What you need to do is print out the plans and drawn beds in the rooms, plus wardrobes.
No, don’t do it.
Plus you state you need a 10/15 minute commute to work, why?0 -

Serious suggestion, electric bicycles. Would triple the area you can look at.movingtomacc wrote: »Thank you everyone, that's very helpful!
To fill in some more details - Moved here from London (where we were for the past 10 years). We don't drive (at the moment) and both of us work in Macc town, so need to be within a 10-15 minute walk of work, shops, etc. on the western side of the rail tracks. This does kind of limit the area we can look in.

OP mentioned their partner has knee problems (electric bikes still need pedalled).AnotherJoe wrote: »Serious suggestion, electric bicycles. Would triple the area you can look at.0 -
OP mentioned their partner has knee problems (electric bikes still need pedalled).
Not all need pedalling.
P.s. it's also possible that the almost zero strain on the knee for those that do need pedalling would not be a problem for the OPs partner. Of course if they cannot bend their knee then that would rule that type out.0 -
Still think the bus routes are worth considering to widen search area.0

Thank you to everyone for their advice!
We viewed the property along with a builder friend (it was lovely and the construction work seemed top notch) but have now decided to drop our budget to no more than 200k. Going by the market in the area we are looking in, it does not make any sense to spend outside the £150-200k range for a 3 bed terraced house, plenty on sale.
I've come across another property that I would love opinions on, but I'll start a different thread for that.0 -
I think that's a very sensible move. And it's very refreshing to see someone who isn't setting their budget according to how much they can potentially borrow (not something I always appreciated as an adviser though
