It is also good that this time you know where the debt originated from and they were planned events rather than fritter spend. You can do this.
I know that limbo feeling - I paid £300 early this month just so I would see some progress. Now we've cleared a couple of the debts and stopped using a couple of CC that we have cancelled - some of the 'earlier' in the month cards are now gone which is great but feels slightly strange.
I just love decluttering. To be honest the whole house needs a good declutter but I'll wait until the kids go back to school as they get over involved!
I have different payments going out on different dates. Might be a good thing as I used to get so frustrated from pay day to pay day! Good work on the £300!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

H got paid today so I paid off what I could but the loans are on direct debit so need to wait until they are paid out. When the carers arrears come through I am hoping to pay off credit card number 3 and that will be a great start for snowballing.
Went to a local castle and farm today. Have an annual pass so low costs for me and the kids. Got some nice steak in the farm shop so will have that instead of a take away. Trying to make little changes here and there to try and make a difference. Will try and rein H in from getting a take away tomorrow as well.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi! Thought I'd find you as you posted on my diary!
Takeaways are a big one in my house too! Problem is, I don't really enjoy cooking and my OH "can't" so it's very easy to give in to takeaway!!! However, steak seems like a good compromise - normally I'm too "tight" to buy it but will quite happily spend on takeaway!!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)0 -

Thanks for popping over Twiggy! Isn't it mad what we dither over. I often wonder whether to buy a bottle of prosecco in the supermarket and yet would order a glass (at the same price) when I'm out!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Little changes are where it’s at! Happy new diary too, like your plan of aiming to pay off so much a month. I might have a ponder on that myself ☺️0

Happy Saturday Cinny! Thanks for popping over! I hope I can keep up with that figure but at least if I do the debt free date would be just over 3 years (hopefully less)Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Morning all! H has taken the kids out to the park so I am chilling and trying to number crunch. After I pay off CC3 I think I am going to try and pay down my loan as much as possible so I can amalgamate my car loan into the main loan and pay the same monthly figure I am paying now. That would mean I would have €388 more per month to throw at the credit cards to get a chunk paid off before the 0% ends.
It probably sounds confusing but it makes sense to me! So the first goal is pay off CC3 and the second is pay down the loan until it is at a level that I can add the car loan to. The two loans are with the same bank so should be easy enough. I need to get the loans down by €10000. It sounds a lot but the two repayments are coming to approx. €1000 per month anyway so I need to try and add extra.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Or maybe I should just pay the minimum on CC3 and focus on getting the loan down first. Unsure what to do now.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
