Hungry horace, that brings back some memories.

Which console? its tough. the 360 has a ton of games out for it but why shouldnt it it been out for a lot longer then the PS3, the style of game is first person shooter if thats what he likes then go for the 360 if he is a driveing game fan then the PS3 Gran Turismo is worth it.

I hear there are some really good things comeing for the PS3, no need to buy aditional hardware to make use of HD movie playback on the PS3 unlike the 360. I actually own a 360 and a wii. The main problem with the PS3 is the price, when it is more reasonable then it will sell just dont buy the cheaper 40GB version if he plans to make use of the PS2 back catalog they won't play.
  • I was thinking of selling my 360 to get a ps3, maybe I just need to flog the 360 and get just a life?
Nothing to see here, move along.
  • sell the xbox and get a dog. It'll get you out the house more!

never ever sell your current console to buy another unless your current console is crap. i made a similar mistake years ago and regretted it. keep your xbox 360 and save up if you fancy also owning a ps3.

What about added a Wii (if you can find one) to the mix?

can someone explain the popularity of the wii? it seems like most of the games are targeted at small children. anyway it would be a miracle to find one this side of xmas.

Its extremely fun to play with, you should try it.

Very interactive due to the motion sensor controller. You don't just sit there toggling or pressing a few buttons with a hamburger in the other hand.

Great to play when people are around and falling all over the place trying to beat each other.

By the way personally I would get the PS3 if not the Wii
  • the Wii is the best thing since sliced bread for about the first week then it becomes a dust gathering doorstop.

    Seriously.

Wii Sports is good but you will get bored of it very quickly. A 'proper' console will stay fun much longer and has much better games
