I'm sure the charts are fixed.

I may sound like I'm trying to make people feel better, or like I'm cynical, or something, but I honestly believe they are.

For example, when Valerie came out (the Amy winehouse/Mark Ronson version) you couldn't buy it for love nor money in Hull - shops would get more in, then sell out in hours.
It's position in the charts?

3rd.
(OK, Hull doesn't exactly make up the biggest percentage in the UK, but still.)


Personally, I bought the song before I had any idea what it would be like, simply as it's a good cause.

YES I bought the song purely to support the cause! I was under the impression that was what it was all about. some people on here are complaining about the song itself, surely they are missing the point! can they come up with a better idea to push this into the public domain?

reminds me of a bad That's Life sketch....

... no content at all ... in fact, you'd think it had all been a bit of a laugh. Might as well call it "Its a funny old world" or something for all the point of it.

Sad thing is, I love the original(s) of this song .. but that is basically an advert for MSE more than about a very serious issue for many.
