Help Get the Bank Charges song to number 1!

I love you Martin and this site... but...

this song really is awful!!! It doesn't have a chance of getting to number one. Just because people download the templates doesn't mean they will part with 50p and give you the numbers to go to #1.

I do hope you do something like this again in the future.... as its a good idea, I just think the song isn't good enough. Invest in a catchy song, even if its as frustrating as bob the builder is after two listens... at least it draws the crowd for that initial listening.

Just my 2p. As I said good idea... but food for thought for next time.

It doesn't matter how good or bad the song is, that is not why people are being asked to buy it. What is important is that you show a little support for the campaign & help bring awareness to others. Its only 50p for god sake!

If people think it's rubbish then why support it - we already "show a little support" by visiting the site and posting and giving time for free to make contributions don't we?

ML and his pals are only human after all - they have good ideas, they have bad ideas. I refer to my earlier post as to where this one sits. It's embarrassingly awful - hey, and anyway one naff Lewis song at No.1 for ages is enough for a lifetime anyway isn't it?

In any case the song seems to be "history" now anyway, so perhaps the thread ought to be closed?

There are many, many people who only visit the forums via the Main Site from the weekly email and without ever joining the forums so this gives them a chance to support Martin.

I still think Ivan's suggestion was a better idea, but I do recognise you can't make candid comments on MSE without the fanatical fans piling in

However, it is still an awful bodge with lyrics that in fact should run in the counter direction

Does anyone have any idea how many downloads have been ordered ?? Got mine earlier, but am curious as to how well it'll do considering some of the comments on this thread.

It deserves to do well, hope the negative comments on here don't get in the way of that.....

On what grounds? it certainly isn't musical ability, lyrics, artistic arrangement or quality of the video ... these are the sorts of things one would expect would make a song 'deserve' to do well in a popular music chart.

i think the general attempts at manipulating the charts (i.e. 'begging' people to buy it) and the overt subservience of many will guarantee that it gets well above its deserved raniking.

having secretly concealed a microphone in the bathroom of martins (and msf?) place of abode i have hopefully now captured enough sound effects for the b-side of this single (although I think on comparison of the 2 it may get released as a double A side)
