i got some copper tape from wilkos £3.99 for 4m, i have stuck it round the bottom on my pots but snails still get to my plants...i think they must fly lol0

If you stick copper tape around the top of the pot, don't they still get in through the drainage holes?

I wait for damp nights then go out with 2 bags I use one as a glove and I pop the snails into the other bag. I then add some nice blue pellets (in case they are hungry of course) and seal the bag and lob in the bin. I have a 4yr old so can't leave the pellets down but we have 100's of snails.
The most I got was 120 one night !!Sealed pot challenge 822

Any chance you could borrow a couple of chickens from a friend for a coupld of days?
I have four hens and our garden no longer suffers from slugs or snails and our neighbours have also noticed a big reduction.
I must think about hiring them out....Good, clean fun....MFW #11 2015 £7657 / £8880

Bran Flakes
I am sure I heard on This Morning the other week that putting bran flakes down will get the snails/slugs.
Apparently, they eat then bran flakes and then get all swollen. Maybe worth a try and pretty cheap if you use the very cheap versions!!!
have fun trying0 -
i recently planted my first delphinium plant ( love them), went away for the weekend and when i got back the tops have gone !!! a closer inspection revealed slug/snail trail up the plant and its all holey and no tops where the flowers wouls be   i am so upset by this and rather annpoyed that these blimming creatures never eat the flipping geranium that i cant get rid of that is right next to my (whats left of it) delphinium.........
will my delphinium survive for next year ???mustn't grumble :cool:0 -
I cant see any reason why it wont come back next year0

I planted a load of dhalias out last week and the bl***y slugs have eaten the lot. They didn't touch the marigolds last year but have decided to eat practically everything this year. And I think they are going to have a go at my sweet peas next.
Any suggestions on how to best get rid of them ?0 -
Slugs ate my delphiniums last year. Must find them real tasty morsels as they were gone in a flash. This year I have each plant within a circle of gravel and slug pellets. So far so good, should be in flower next week I think.0

I too am plagued by these pests every year and the only thing that seems to work on them (apart from pellets which I used to use, but that's another story) are beer traps. However, they must be connisseur slugs: I gave them some cheap budget beer and they were just not interested. So, in frustration, I supplied them with some Stella. Getting at least half a dozen every night now
Just don't tell DH how I'm using his Stella.:oA friend is someone who overlooks your broken fence and admires the flowers in your garden.0
