I was 9 months pregnant last New Year, so I stayed on MSE swapping photos and playing games with other members.
I'll be three months pregnant this New Year.......anyone know any good games?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
We have a barbecue with the neighbours starting about 8pm. We sit outside at the patio furniture and pretend it's summer!!
We drink plenty of mulled wine, see the new year in using the portable tv that we set up outside then usually play with the kids xmas presents. Drunken adults skateboarding and playing on pogo sticks has to be seen to be believed:rotfl:0 -
Weve gone to tenerife for the last 5 years.
The last time we stayed here we just watched tv and had a few drinks, went to bed just after midnight. pretty boring really.
So now we take our children of to the sun for a week, we love it.
Its really warm and so relaxing, we usually go out for a nice meal then down to the beach for a massive firework display with all the locals !0 -

This sounds like a fab idea, Will have to try this if we ever stay in this country for NY. We have really mad but nice neighbours, this would be really good. Would imagine we'd need quite a few heaters though :rolleyes:0 -
I usually just stay in and watch the TV New Year celebrations. I love the Big fat new years quiz with Jimmy Carr. The year before last I went to a house party but I just couldn't keep up with everyone else. I am thinking of inviting everyone round here this year as a joint New Years / HouseWarming party~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Don't ever stop believing........

My partner and I spend the evening reminiscing over the outgoing year, photos, videos, music. We spend the evening reminding each other of all the laughter and tears, raising a glass to all the people who have graced our lives over the course of the year.
Depending on how much alcohol has been consumed the conversation becomes deep, talking about lessons learnt, or ridiculous, making outrageous new year's resolutions.
Come what may by midnight we are usually on an emotional high and ready to welcome in another memorable year :-)0 -
2 years ago I spent nye in Sibiu Romania with a spanish girl I'd met online and who I travelled Romania with. Got very drunk on wine and watched the locals letting off fireworks dressed as various animals for some strange reasonFriendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings

If you ever get the chance to spend NYE in the Netherlands, grab it with both hands.. i swear.. they let off more fireworks in the first hour after midnight than we do through the whole of november. Its absolutely incredible.. and fanastic fun!
this year though, we'll be getting quietly sozzled at home, i expect.. LOL.

My first New Years Eve with my BF we stayed in at his house as all his family were away. We got some pizzas and crips, choccy and a few drinks in. Watched some DVD's and stuffed our faces all night:T. At midnight we went and had a walk down to the local park and watched the firework display for a while then walked back, watched some more DVD's, stuffed our faces abit more then fell asleep. It was a really fun new years eve
That sounds perfect! We were going to do similar this year but decided on the Glasgow Hogmanay do instead as the View are playing so it should be fab, if not very cold as normal. Weve been to it a few times, the Edinburgh one once and stayed in sometimes too. Was looking forward to a stay in night this year but not to be!

ive been to house parties with all my friends that was good. house parties when half your friends are one place and half are in another are depressing.i like being with my family/going the local pub last 2 years have been fancy dress in the middle of wales with 20 of our friends. ive also worked in the pub one year - that was one of the best nights!
id be happy to stay in and play board games - its great fun!
