With a Claim Issue Date of 14th August, you have until Monday 2nd September to do the Acknowledgement of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it. To do the AoS, follow the guidance offered in a Dropbox file linked from post #2 of . About ten minutes work - no thinking required.
Having done the AoS, you have until 4pm on Monday 16th September 2019 to file your Defence.
That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence could be filed via email as suggested here:-
Print your Defence.
- Sign it and date it.
- Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
- Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
- Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
- Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defence received". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
- Do not be surprised to receive an early copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire, they are just trying to keep you under pressure.
- Wait for your DQ from the CCBC, or download one from the internet, and then re-read post #2 of to find out exactly what to do with it.
0 - Sign it and date it.

Redx and keithp thanks so much for the help.hopefully it will be over turned as its abit of a joke to say the least0

I have to say that it's unlikely to be overturned by VCS. If you look at some of the other VCS/Excel cases they will pursue to the bitter end even though the transgressions are very minor.
That said fluttering ticket cases tend to be dismissed in court if robustly defended. There are some examples of defending these cases on this board.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

It is disgusting.fair enough if i hadnt payed id take it on the chin but i had and placed it on my dash.a friend returned to the car and when he closed the door the ticket must of fallen on the floor and they still demanded £1000 -
No chance of VCS overturning it or backing out, you need to get reading on how to beat this head on. We do have a 99% success rate at court cases when fully coached here, with posters who read all they can and stick around at all stages.pesky_robway wrote: »Redx and keithp thanks so much for the help.hopefully it will be over turned as its abit of a joke to say the least
As you did pay & display and the ticket was dislodged by a passenger later, it can be argued that you as driver did NOT breach the terms to pay & display, given the signs say nothing about 'permanently displaying' the ticket while you are absent.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Im not the sharpest bloke when it comes to defence is there any templates available0 -
Yes 17 of them linked in the NEWBIES thread post #2; just look for the one with fairly similar facts and adapt it.

Don't worry, you have all the help you need on this forum.
A little secret for you ...... VCS are not the smartest page in the book
and this sounds like a prime reason for the judge to whoop them ..... AGAIN
TIP: Make sure you have your costs schedule (about £95 average) ready for the judge when you win0
