This is not supposed to be an 'example'.

It is a competition. Think of it as financial willy waggling.

Excellent thread. I agree with third player being 100% Bitcoin, either directly or via an ETF. :)

  • Feel rather contrite, considering this genesis of this thread, tussling over the fortune of someone with more pressing concerns just seems wrong.
However jelly dream seems to be quite entertained - when he is not, we'll close it down.

I like bowlhead's choice. I'm tempted to buy.
I assume the "management" charges are subsumed in the share price, DairyQueen?

This would remove any vestige of sensible comparison.

Costs and charges are deducted from trust income and the balance paid to investors as divis. Shares may trade at a discount or premium to NAV. RIT is currently trading at a 3.27% premium.
  • Have to say I do find the competition and debates on this thread informative and great fun so please carry on 👏. I had already considered posting my own novice selections here when I get round to buying for my own actual SIPP and (with your help) backdating them to time/date of the challenge !! :D

Competitions can be fun, but investing your pension isn't a game and your sister won't thank you for losing your money chasing returns :)

How your investment fund selections 'perform' by comparison to what you see here, is not important, merely a curiosity - and I wouldn't recommend copying any sample 'portfolio' on this thread, which is just for a lark.

OK, the mixed asset fund is RIT Capital Partners plc.

Bowlhead do you think there is risk the premium might turn to discount when Lord Rothschild steps down as chairman (but remains as president) and takes a less active role at the end of September? How much of this is already priced and how much might the price change when it actually happens?
