OK, I can make out that ZingPowZing showed a better performance than bowlhead,  because confirmation of the  gentlemen's (or gentlewomens; or gentlexmens) honour is shown with a charitable receipt.
But I still can't find what the original £160,000 for both contestants grew to.......was it greater than £191,245.22..._
ZingPowZing had a total of £225,120 and Bowlhead £149,536
Thanks Prism. I was doing calculations based on a fantasy gold investment made on August 15th 2019, and what it would have been worth on August 15th 2020. The nearest trading day to August 15th this year was Friday August 14th.

My original figure of £191,245.22 was calculated  for Monday 17th, and not the closest date.

Calculated to August 14th 2020 from August 15th 2019 on the average of the a.m. and p.m. London Gold Fix it comes to £189,634.17, so  I come second in a fantasy three horse race. I can live with that..._

FWIW of my two portfolios i posted upthread one beat ZPZ handsomely at around £265k  the other beat BH but lost to ZPZ and you (170k). And of course both beat BH.
Both portfolios are in essence real as i hold all the investments within my SIPPs etc..

I hope I remember to come back here in August 2021.
I'll leave my gold to rollover and, if allowed to remain, I will use the eight shares currently in my Telegraph Fantasy fund as an additional play.
Just imagine, a goldbug might just show everybody how it's done. I wonder if one of the usual suspects will join in..._

    Edit, Wednesday October 7th 2020.
The Telegraph Fantasy Fund from July 06th to October 02nd has closed. I ended with an uptick of £4342. That comes in at 17+% if annualised. My picks and percentages were as follows:-
    PIN 12%     842              TATE 10%     2329
    SVS 11%    2142            BRWM 12%  5976
    SAFE 14%  3754            ABF 16%      1149
    BME 16%   8195            CCL 9%        430

If these are worked through from August 15th 2019 it would have seen £160,000 turn to £131,500. I'll be going on to 2021 with the number of shares above (in bold) unchanged.

They were all chosen based on theories of "Speculative Punt Investment Strategies Of A Reformed Goldbug" by Professor Digger who holds the Chair of Economics at 'The University Of Life'
Although it is out of print I have a first edition, signed and dedicated to me by the great author herself..._

Its interesting to see the actual results of a hand picked vs expensive managed fund vs tracker. I think. It reminds people of some important truths about their forecasting.

So much has happened since 2019!
