Right a large toad eaten.
I now have no need to buy a sewing machine, (thanks for all your advise though) A bit of out side the box thinking, some wonderweb and hot iron has solved for now the problem.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Welcome back Skint!
I have moved mountains in the attic and there is now plenty of room to swing a cat, or in fact a whole clouder of them. There is stuff to go to the chazza, stuff to go to the tip and stuff I need to use asap for various reasons. AND I found Snowball's(dog) basket which I thought I'd donated to a CS a few years ago, but it was hiding behind the immersion. It's the perfect size for Layla and it had been grieving me that I'd let it go because Snowers has been dead a good 30 years and I'd thought it was time at some point but clearly changed my mind.
The big change was when I dragged all the kitchenalia, painting stuff and DIY stuff down to my office I told OH we weren't going through it with a view of getting rid of stuff, we were getting rid of it all except the things either of us particularly wanted to keep. Massive shift in attitude and hugely productive.
I'm too tired to do all the 'getting it out of the house' runs now, but it'll give me a great deal of satisfaction tomorrow or Thursday to knock and drop all over the place, and the bonus is the Scrapstore is open all day on Thursdays. There's probably quite a bit more I can *fling* at some stage soon but for now I'm thrilled to bits I've done all the major shuffling and tidying that was urgent.Better is good enough.0 -
Well done HB, you must have had all my guag.
I'll try again tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Excellent work. HB well done!
I've banked the last lot of PTA change - way too heavy to haul to the bank in one go.
Unfortunately, on an earlier trip, I accidentally banked ALL the £1 coins bar the odd bag ie the one that wasn't a full £20). So I have held some notes back, as I will need change for floats at some point.
I've also completed one of my summer list projects; the drawstring bag now has a string
It had brightened up, so the washing went out before i left for town.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Conservatory cupboard sorted out and cleaned.
Bird food now has its own basket.
Since Ds1 hasn’t moved home this summer I have used some of his storage tubs to rehome some of DH’s power tools that he left hanging around in the conservatory. 10 mins gardening done whilst DS2 was on a game.
DS2 broke a standard lamp and another table from the nest so we need to go to the tip.
Lost 2lbs this week and celebrated with a mars bar (no hope for me)0 -
Hello
Just popping my head around the door to say thank you for all you lovely comments
One or two fraught moments today but I survived to work another day :T
Flying was minimum: made my bed, fed the birds, called at Mr C00p to buy pack up for tomorrow, paid the rent, and spent a couple of hours with my Dad. It would have been Mum's birthday tomorrow - another 'first' to deal with.
Sweet dreams

Morning All
Hugs Roundtuit - thinking of you.
HB - you're going great guns - I dread to think what I'd pull out of my loft - the rest of the house is bad enough!
So far today I've mopped the kitchen and the hall. The plumber is coming this afternoon and hopefully the water people will be here at some point to fill in the large hole they've left at the bottom of my drive. I may get some painting done today, if not I'll sugar soap the beams and skirting boards and paint them tomorrow. I think I'm going to clean my oven today as the sink is being ripped out tonight and I would like to clean it before the new kitchen goes in as I'm keeping the cooker.
Have a good day all
Hugs

Hi all
Completed my list yesterday although forgot to post again!
Today’s list is pretty long! Mostly small jobs but there are a lot of them to get through plus I have to do a full day of paid stuff  I really need as much GUAG as I can today
So far I have...
Done some paid stuff
Painted my toenails!
Washed dishes
Wiped out fridge... DH spilled stuff and didn’t clean up properly
Washing swishing and basket empty again
Put away laundry from yesterday
Packed up parcel to return
Sent a couple of emails for house admin stuff.
I am just having a cuppa and a bite to eat, then I will do some more paid stuff...
Back later with an ongoing progress report! Have a lovely day all x0 -
Morning all,
I had a blissful day "off" yesterday; the children went to holiday club, so I walked for miles with the dog then read my book for a few hours. Sending them to club was an expensive indulgence but worth it, I really needed some me time.
Onto today, I am heading to Aldi at 8.30 to do a big shop. Will also go to the bottle bank on the way. I will take the children to the library this afternoon then we will have a movie night. Laundry will have to wait until tomorrow when the forecast is better.
I have one of those home energy display monitors and am fascinated by hw much energy we are using, sad or what.
Have lovely days all xx0 -
Morning all. A bit damp here this morning so today will be a pottering day. Admin first.
