This is a nightmare, we get a couple of cold calls a week from no win no fee crews asking if we've had any 'slip, trips or falls' lately and in the local shopping centres there's these little pop up booths with people being stopped and asked about this too.
There needs to be a stop put to this, the last thing we need is insurance bills to be going as high as they are.0 -

we are registered, we keep re-registering. We'll have to go ex-directory at this rate.
That industry needs killing off quickly, it's a pest and it only allows local scumbags (the kind who don't have car insurance to begin with and don't intend to) to prosper while honest hard working people like ourselves pay for it.0 -
Hi
I am trying to renew my car insurance. Ten months ago, I touched (no more!) a car at traffic lights. No damage to either car, but as other car was company car we exchanged addresses. Other party since made a claim for £7000 for whiplash - which my insurance company did not contest. On my renewal form, it states that I have no no claims bonus, but it also states that I have made no claims. Is this a mistake on their part? Or can I reasonably complete an application adding 'nil' where asked if I have made a claim or been involved in an accident?0 -
The offer for Hastings Car Insurance states "Your quoted premium via this link will be the same as the cheapest price comparison site".
Confused.com is showing £270 so I thought with cashback of £40 I would be paying a total of £230.
Wrong, going to Hastings via Quidco they want £300 :mad:0 -
My son turns 16 in January, but the quotes ask if I have any kids under 16 full stop - which I won't have about 1/3 of the way through my insurance contract. The wee bu**er adds over £60 to the quote.
Any suggestions?????0 -

You would be lying - you have been involved in an accident which has resulted in a claim against your policy!0 -
Hi- just the same happened to me last year.. No damage to either car, or people, but they claimed successfullyfor whiplash. I did not know they had put in a claim until M & S put up my premium 1/2 way through. When I questioned why, they told me but took off the extra as the underwriters has not told me anything about their claim. My renewal form now says I have my 6 yr no claim bonus. when I phoned to check, they said the 'accident' had been taken into account in calculating new amount. Just done go compare, and even putting in the 'accident', the premiums are much cheaper. I still have had nothing in writing about the claim against me last Jan, but better to be honest.0

My son was knocked off his motorbike by a hit and run driver.we did get the registration and reported to our insurance company. We were told if he went through mib he would loose his no claims. Fortunatley he wasnt seriously injured but he had to repair the bike his self. I do think the insurance needs to change,i have over 9 years no claims and just got my new quote. It was £600 and now they want £1055. So do our no claims count any more ?0
