Try the "NA" option if you aren't a business user - according to a Renault press release, the scheme is open to both business and private users.

:o Yeah you're right, it's 24 hours cover for the weekday test drives, but they cover the weekend test drive from 5:30pm on Friday till 9:30am on Monday, at least that's what I see from their T&Cs.
I can't see this in their Ts & Cs - can you refer me to the relevant bit please, Crabman?

It's on their rental agreement so you'd be best calling your local AVIS for details, they clarified the situation when I double-checked about the insurance cover a few weeks ago :)

I'll ask them when they make the confirming phone-call on Thursday ... assuming that it comes! Sounds a bit dodgy based on some of the posts here.

The OH wants us to leave at lunchtime to go and visit in-laws; I was happy enough to leave after work anyway but 5.30 isn't very convenient as a setting-off time because the traffic will be awful and we'll get there quite late. Surely they don't expect people who are going away for the weekend to leave it until so late to depart?

They didn't phone today so I phoned them up ... they did have details of my booking and were intending to deliver the car tomorrow, but admitted they should have phoned to confirm credit card details - d'oh!

I don't know what time, or what model, or much else yet. I asked them to make it as early as possible so we'll see what turns up and when. :D

Mine arrived today, it's a 1.9 TD Estate (I asked for hatch!) with climate, half leather and a few electrical toys.

Had the grand total of 19 miles on the clock!

I took it for an easy drive along the motorway and then threw it around the country lanes.

First impression, it's a decent car although I'd not trust the electrical toys to last being French!
  • Do you have to pay the £200 insurance up front or is it only taken if a claim is made?

The car was delivered and was a nice DCI 150 Dynamique Hatch. The (6 speed) gearbox was abominable, though, and probably enough in itself to put me off the car.

Apart from that it was very pleasant to drive.

GavStar The insurance excess is only payable if you have an accident, but you have to provide a credit card guarantee up front.
