Girl friend seperating & wants half my money

You don't sound very mature, and for someone who is clever enough to earn so much money I'm surprised you couldn't do ten minutes of research to find out she isn't entitled to anything she doesn't own. As you're not married your assets aren't marital assets and unless she can prove to a court she contributed to the property with the plan of having a share she has no beneficial interest.
Raising your child isn't "doing nothing" so your attitude to her contribution to your life together stinks. However without marriage there are no laws to recognise her contribution so you don't need to hide all your money. She's only entitled to what's in her name, such as property, bank accounts, vehicles, etc.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
Been there done that, she has no chance. won the court case my lawyer got the better payoff. Just ignore any mail from her and her legal people, save it for the court case, which she cant win.0

It's the kid I feel sorry for.0

It’s still the case though, and a good reason to get married before having kids and putting yourself at the financial mercy of someone like the OP.0 -
Anything she has done has certainly not contributed to my cash money / savings.
Apart from looking after *your* child whilst you worked.
Do you know how much full time childcare costs? How much would less time would you have had to earn money if you'd been the primary carer?
If she had, for instance, died of medical complications shortly after giving birth, and you'd had to raise your son on your own, you would be many thousands of pounds worse off.
You might not like her, and she might be a very nice person, but to suggest that she has made no contribution to your money is utter nonsense.
She has absolutely *no* more rights than you in this regard. There is nothing to stop you from applying for full custody so that you'd be the primary carer (and she'd be the one with contact hours). If you genuinely believe you can offer a better life for him then I'd say you're morally obliged to do this.Firstly what right does she have more than me to have access to our son ? Aside of what the court can think I can %100 provide him a better and more stable life0 -
Just be glad you didn't marry the !!!!!.0

I don't think this reflects very well on the OP either...Women who use kids in this way are literally the scum of the earthAfter some careful consideration I have decided that if she puts it with a solicitor i will be emptying my bank account either into an offshore or crypto currency and possibly move abroad.
I absolutely refuse to have my son taken from me and get my financial resources taken from me in the process . I would sooner bankrupt myself then bank roll her to be with another guy on my dime.0 -
Im siding with the OP - seems it was her choice to leave, she cant expect to take half his dough and use the kid as a lever to get it
Alright, he's suggesting some rash stuff - but that's the way they get you when they start pulling those strings.
Iv been there0 -

Iv been there
I've only heard one side of the story.
And neither - even the OP from his own account - come across well.0
